  • Patent number: 11709522
Abstract: Embodiments herein describe techniques for managing power consumption and temperature in an electronic circuits or integrated chips driven by clock signals (collectively referred to as “cards”) by throttling the clock signals on those cards. The cards often allow users to implement customized hardware acceleration functions via Field Programmable Gate Arrays or the like, which can lead to variable workloads on different cards (or regions of individual cards) based on the customized functionality. By throttling the clock signal based on continuously monitored power consumption or temperature, the user is enabled to use the card more aggressively (e.g., based on average rather than worst-case power consumption), and the card automatically throttles operations when power consumption or temperature exceeds operational thresholds.

  • Publication number: 20230205251
Abstract: Systems or methods of the present disclosure may provide for analyzing or monitoring one or more frequencies of one or more clocks. For example, a clock analysis system includes a control register that stores a frequency indication for a first clock, and an edge counter and a window counter that count respective numbers of edges of the first clock and a second clock within a particular window. The clock analysis system also includes a status register that stores indications of the number of edges from the edge counter and the window counter. The clock analysis system further includes an application processor that determines a ratio between the number of edges of the first clock and the number of edges of the second clock, determines a frequency of the first clock based on the ratio, and transmits an indication of the frequency to a peripheral device for display.

  • Publication number: 20230194587
Abstract: A method for determining a capacitance value of a capacitor is provided. The method includes receiving a current signal flowing through the capacitor and receiving a voltage signal applied across the capacitor. The received voltage signal and the received current signal are filtered with a low pass filter. The filtered voltage signal and the filtered current signal are then discretized. The discretized voltage signal and the discretized current signal are transformed into a frequency domain. The capacitance value of the capacitor is determined from the transformed voltage signal and the transformed current signal.

  • Publication number: 20230194608
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for performing built-in-self-test (BIST) operations without a dedicated clock source. The BIST operations are performed by receiver lanes of a multilane receiver system, wherein at least one receiver lane is configured as synthesized clock source for other receiver lanes configured to perform BIST operations. The at least one receiver lane configured as the synthesized clock source may generate a clock signal and provide the clock signal to the other receiver lanes performing the BIST operations. In some examples, digital control signals may be used for coordinating the enablement of the at least one receiver lane to function as the synthesized clock source and for coordinating the enablement of the other receiver lanes to perform BIST operations.

  • Patent number: 11663143
Abstract: A server includes a data cache for storing data objects requested by mobile devices, desktop devices, and server devices, each of which may execute a different configuration of an application. When a cache miss occurs, the cache may begin loading portions of a requested data object from various data sources. The cache itself may be divided into multiple partitions, and each of the partitions may be assigned to a specific attribute, such as an application configuration. Portions of the data object may be loaded into corresponding cache partitions based on the attributes of each. Although part of a single cache, each of the partitions may be independently assigned different cache replacement policies. Performance metrics for each of the partitions may be monitored and used to update the cache replacement policy for each partition at runtime without interrupting response traffic.

  • Publication number: 20230142764
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to automated methods and systems for assessing moral hazard and adverse selection in agricultural insurance that assist an insurer, re-insurer by generating recommendations for adoption of crop protocols using the dynamic Crop Protocol (DFI) engine of insurance companies during the crop cycle (CP). A moral score is computed based on an adoption index, a crop health index and a weather index. The moral hazard score is further used to dynamically determine a moral hazard level that indicates a correlation between one or more parameters derived from the acquired data and classified as low, moderate, and high based on the correlation. The method of present disclosure aids to under-write the insurance and associated risk based policy effectively and efficiently for determining eligible claim payout to minimize manual error and mitigate faulty loss assessment.
