  • Publication number: 20150071262
Abstract: A method, apparatus and software configured to compile a traffic indication message indicating downlink traffic is waiting for a plurality of users; and only for each nth ones of the users for which a response to the traffic indication message is received, the response identifying the nth user in a time period corresponding to a portion of the traffic indication message which indicates downlink traffic is waiting for that user, schedule the downlink traffic in each nth slot corresponding to the time period. A method, apparatus and software configured to determine that a received traffic indication message indicates downlink traffic is waiting for a particular user; map a portion of the traffic indication message, that indicates the downlink traffic is waiting for the particular user, to an uplink time period; and send, in the mapped uplink time period, a response indicating that the particular user is awake.

  • Patent number: 8964561
Abstract: A first access node of a first network utilizes code sequences, assigned to different user devices, to distinguish at least acknowledgements received in parallel or sequentially from those user devices. The first access node determines from received signaling that a root sequence of the code sequences is in use by a second access node of a second network, then changes that root sequence of the code sequences assigned to the different user devices. In certain examples the access nodes are WLAN access points APs and the acknowledgements are received in response to a group probe/poll. In various embodiments the first AP monitors its neighbors' group probes/polls to learn the root sequences/basic service sets in use in those neighbor networks, or the AP's own stations monitor and send the information in neighbor reports. This latter option can be initiated by the stations themselves, or by the AP.

  • Patent number: 8806288
Abstract: A method of encoding that uses standard codecs such as linear encoders and decoders for encoding and decoding data with different levels of robustness to errors is described. In one configuration, multiple encoders may be utilized, and one of the encoders may use a standard encoder such as a turbo code followed by a nonlinearity that creates an unequal distribution of ones and zeros in a binary representation of the code. In another configuration, a coder may be utilized that represents message outputs as “channels” that create state transitions (or symbol errors) in a data forward error correction coder.

  • Publication number: 20140140281
Abstract: A method for reporting uplink control information (UCI) on a user equipment (UE) is described. Multiple channel state information (CSI) reports are generated for multiple component carriers (CCs) that are scheduled to be transmitted in a subframe. • Publication number: 20140133439
Abstract: A method for reporting uplink control information (UCI) on a user equipment (UE) is described. The UCI is coded using a first block coder and a second block coder to obtain an output bit sequence. The output bit sequence is scrambled to obtain a scrambled signal. A block of complex-valued modulation symbols is generated from the scrambled signal for physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) Format 3. The first block coder and the second block coder use a Reed-Muller code.

  • Patent number: 8675528
Abstract: A method for reporting uplink control information (UCI) by a user equipment (UE) is described. Downlink channels are measured to obtain channel state information (CSI). Radio resource control (RRC) signaling is received from an eNode B. It is determined whether simultaneous physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission is enabled.
