  • Patent number: 11962087
Abstract: This document describes a single-layer air waveguide antenna integrated on a circuit board. The waveguide guides electromagnetic energy through channels filled with air. It is formed from a single layer of material, such as a sheet of metal, metal-coated plastic, or other material with conductive surfaces that is attached to a circuit board. A portion of a surface of the circuit board is configured as a floor of the channels filled with air. This floor is an electrical interface between the circuit board and the channels filled with air. The single layer of material is positioned atop this electrical interface to define walls and a ceiling of the channels filled with air. The single layer of material can be secured to the circuit board in various ways. The cost of integrating an air waveguide antenna on to a circuit board this way may be less expensive than other waveguide-manufacturing techniques.

  • Patent number: 11950959
Abstract: The present disclosure describes ultrasound imaging systems and methods for ultrasonically inspecting biological tissue. An ultrasound imaging system according to the present disclosure may be configured to automatically apply tissue-specific imaging parameter settings (312, 314) based upon the automatic identification of the type of tissue being scanned. Tissue type identification (315) may be performed automatically for the images in the live image stream (304) and thus adjustments to the imaging settings may be applied automatically by using a neural network (320) and thus dynamically during the exam obviating the need for the sonographer to manually switch presets or adjust the imaging settings when moving to different portion of the anatomy.

  • Publication number: 20240094969
Abstract: Disclosed is the differential application of scalars to compensate pixel degradation. Input image data is associated with a commanded luminance at each of a plurality of pixels. A degradation value is determined for each pixel. Based on the degradation value, an elevated drive current is determined to produce commanded luminance at the pixel. A required scalar is determined for each pixel to hold the elevated drive current from exceeding a drive current threshold. An applied scalar for each pixel is determined for each pixel to be applied to the elevated drive current. For at least some pixels, the applied scalar for a first pixel is based at least on [I] the required scalar of a second pixel and [2] a spatial relationship between the first pixel and the second pixel. Applied scalars are then used to output corrected imagery.

  • Publication number: 20240081759
Abstract: An apparatus and method for medical imaging uses a first and second contrast agent, the second agent targeted to a particular tissue type. First images are obtained using the first agent, and second images using the second agent using medical imaging systems. An image processing system is adapted to process the first and second medical images by fitting parameters of a pharmacokinetic model to the first medical images, identifying a nontargeted tissue type, scaling the fitted parameters to best match the nontargeted tissue in the second medical images, executing the pharmacokinetic model to prepare a correction image, and generating corrected medical images by subtracting the correction image from the second medical images.
