  • Publication number: 20090314722
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided that enable the control of a screening operation based on a calculated screen blockage percentage and the velocity throughput of the screen. The apparatus includes an upstream level detector, a downstream level detector and a flow determining device which determines the volumetric flow through the screen. The apparatus may further include a blockage determination unit which determines the percent screen blockage based on the flow level upstream of the screen, the flow level downstream of the screen and the volumetric flow.

  • Publication number: 20090161544
Abstract: Network flows are identified by analyzing network traffic and network host information. The network host information may be collected by network host monitors associated with network hosts. Network traffic and network host information are evaluated against network flow profiles to identify network flows. If a network flows are identified with high certainty and are associated with previously identified network applications, then network flow policies can be applied to the network flows to block, throttle, accelerate, enhance, or transform the network flows. If a network flow is identified with lesser certainty or is not associated with a previously identified network application, then a new network flow profile can be created from further analysis of network traffic information, network host information, and possibly additional network host information collected to enhance the analysis.

  • Publication number: 20080114788
Abstract: A system and method for measuring the value of elements in an information repository includes, in one embodiment, various methods of measuring the value of elements in an information repository are provided. Knowing which elements in the repository are most used may define one measure of their value. This may serve a number of business purposes including, for example, establishing how to price those assets if they are sold; identifying which assets are candidates for further investment; assessing the performance of the information developers who created them; deciding which assets should be retired from the repository; and measuring the level of asset reuse in an organization.

  • Patent number: 6786460
Abstract: A combination carrying strap and support stand for a golf bag is used both for carrying the bag around a golf course, or as a stand for the bag when not being carried. The combination, having an open end and a closed end, utilizes a flexible strap section, attached to a pair of linear supports, the section capable of flexing in one direction only. The flexible strap section is made up of a series of identical link elements, a flexible bottom band, to which each link element bottom is contiguously affixed, and a flexible upper band, to which each link element is slideably attached. The upper band attaches to and activates a pair of support legs, attached to the flexible strap section at it lower end, which allows the bag to stand independently. A lower linear support which rotatably attaches to the golf bag allows the strap/stand to remain in either storage mode or operational mode.

  • Patent number: 5827007
Abstract: An entrance-deterring cap for manhole openings in which an annular pan has an annular flange extending laterally from a skirt for supporting the pan on an upper edge of a frame in a manhole opening. A support member comprises an elongate bar disposed outwardly of the pan with a pair of plates rigidly attached at distal ends of the bar. A threaded stud is attached to the elongate bar for insertion through an opening in the bottom of the pan whereby the plates of the bar are exposed outwardly of the skirt with the distal ends of the plates near the flange of the pan. An elongate flexible strand attached to the threaded stud extends through an opening in the pan for coupling the bar with the pan. The pan is supported by the flange on an upper surface of the frame in a manhole opening and the elongate bar is suspended by the flexible strand below the pan in a throat of the manhole opening. The strand is pulled in order to move the threaded stud through the opening in the pan.

  • Patent number: 5479957
Abstract: A system for lubricating a plug flow of high viscosity material in a pipeline is disclosed. The system includes first and second pipes through which the plug flow of high viscosity material is pumped. The first pipe has a flange which is positioned adjacent a flange of the second pipe. A plurality of bolts, attached to the flange of the first pipe and to the flange of the second pipe, connect the first pipe to the second pipe. A lubrication spool is positionable in a first location between the flange of the first pipe and the flange of the second pipe for lubricating the plug flow of high viscosity material. The lubrication spool is removable from the first position without completely disconnecting the first and second pipes. The lubrication spool includes a first spool section which is located immediately adjacent the flange of the first pipe while in the first position and a second spool section immediately adjacent the first spool section.
