  • Publication number: 20240128767
Abstract: A high-voltage (HV) system is provided including at least one HV component, a passive resistance load coupled to the at least one HV component, a control circuit coupled to the passive resistance load, and an isolated power supply coupled to the control circuit. The control circuit is switchable between a first state in which the control circuit closes an electric circuit connecting the at least one HV component and the passive resistance load and a second state in which the control circuit opens the electric circuit connecting the at least one HV component and the passive resistance load. The isolated power supply controls the control circuit to be in one of the first state and the second state.

  • Patent number: 11657847
Abstract: A write command is received to write data in a target zone including one or more tracks and it is determined whether a data structure is stored in a memory for counting writes performed in a track of the target zone. If such a data structure is not stored in the memory, at least one Low Repeat Write (LRW) data structure is created for the target zone to count writes in sectors of respective tracks of the target zone since creation of the at least one LRW data structure. In another aspect, a write count for a segment is incremented in a data structure for a track to account for a write in the segment. A current overall Track Interference (TI) write count for the target zone is incremented if the incremented segment write count is the highest write count among respective segment write counts in the data structure.

  • Patent number: 11132244
Abstract: A method includes determining a portion of a block of a storage device to read after programming, and reading the portion of the block and determining a maximum error count for the portion of the block. The maximum error count is compared to a threshold. When the maximum error count exceeds the threshold, a code rate of an error correction coding used to program the block is adjusted, or a code rate test is performed on the entire block.

  • Patent number: 11133831
Abstract: A method includes programming data in a block of a storage device, and reading back the programmed data and determining a maximum error count for the block. A code rate index that satisfies correction of the maximum error count for the block is determined. • Patent number: 10189677
Abstract: An automated elevator control system using facial recognition. The system is capable of recognizing an elevator passenger's face in a field of view of an imaging device in close proximity to the elevator car, capturing the elevator passenger's facial image using video data output from the imaging device, and comparing the captured facial image to pre-registered facial image data in a database storing corresponding authorized floor destination data for each passenger. Upon determining a match between the captured facial image and a stored facial image, the system is capable of sending a signal to the elevator control system to move the elevator car to the elevator passenger's authorized floor destination.

  • Publication number: 20150143886
Abstract: A method of determining crack condition on a sidewall of a tire uses a crack detection tool having a lens on a housing, and a transparent reticle on the housing at the focal plane of the lens. A plurality of spaced lines are provided on the reticle, with the spacing of each pair of indicia conforming to a degree of crack condition of the sidewall of a desired tire. The method includes viewing the sidewall of the desired tire through the lens and the reticle, selecting a crack on the tire sidewall and positioning the reticle over the selected crack so that the sides of the crack are approximately symmetrically located within, on or outside of the pairs of lines. Using the pairs of indicia on the reticle, the tire sidewall condition may be determined based on the degree of crack width.

  • Publication number: 20150139498
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting cracks in automotive tires using an automated optical imaging system that captures an image of the tire, converts the captured image into a grayscale image and next to a binary image, detects discrete shapes from the binary image, bounding each of the discrete shapes by baseline border shapes, and selects a predetermined baseline border shape. The apparatus and method optionally determine if the discrete shape has a tapered end, and if a tapered end is confirmed, calculate a level of jaggedness for the discrete shape, and measure the maximum width of a discrete shape having a predetermined baseline border shape, a tapered end, and a jagged outline, for comparison with industry standards for tire crack widths.

  • Patent number: 8825542
Abstract: A network enables a plurality of servers to share information about customers' trading activities and locally recalculate customer trading limits resulting from these trading activities. If a trading limit is exceeded, a server may automatically change to a less permissive trading mode, prevent an order being placed with the at least one exchange server and/or enter a trading mode in which orders that decrease account exposure are allowed and orders that increase account exposure are prevented.

  • Publication number: 20140108228
Abstract: A post-trade monitor receives feedback in the form of drop copy messages from an exchange server and validates orders placed with the exchange server by a sponsored access trading platform shortly after the orders have been placed. If a recently placed order is found to violate a rule or regulation, the monitor instructs the trading platform to change to a more restrictive trading mode, such as to cease placing all orders or certain types of orders, at least until certain parameters are met.

  • Patent number: 8628102
Abstract: An extended crank system for a bicycle or similar crank driven system has frame with a bottom bracket and a pair of cranks operatively connected to opposite ends of the bottom bracket. A chain ring is operatively connected to one of the cranks. A crank hub is rotatably connected to each of the cranks and extends away from and is substantially parallel to the bottom bracket. A pair of crank extensions is connected to the crank hub, and a pair of crank extension hubs is connected to the pair of crank extensions. Additionally, a pair of crank followers is pivotably connected to opposite ends of the crank extension hubs at respective first ends of the crank followers, as well as pivotably connected to opposite ends of a top bracket mounted to the frame above the chain ring and behind the seat post, at respective second ends of the crank followers.

  • Patent number: 8543488
Abstract: A network enables monitors, trading platforms and libraries to share information about customers' trading activities and locally recalculate customer trading limits resulting from these trading activities. A low-latency interface between a customer server, such as a server that employs algorithmic trading methods to generate buy and sell orders for securities, and a brokerage server that validates such securities trading orders is optimized for handling the securities trading orders. The interface supports a trading command set specifically designed for orders from customer trading application programs, and the interface formats received trading commands into compact messages that are sent over a high-speed communication link to the brokerage server. The interface receives order acknowledgement messages and the like from the brokerage server and invokes callback routines in the customer trading application program to report status information.
