  • Publication number: 20100245711
Abstract: In a liquid crystal display device having a direct-lighting backlight using LEDs as a light source, the number of LEDs is reduced without causing unevenness in brightness. An LED is disposed under a cylindrical lens to be closer to one end of the lens than a middle part of the lens. Light emitted from the LED is outputted, as diffused light, upward from an end diffusion surface of the lens. A portion of the top surface of the lens makes up a total reflection surface to reflect light emitted from the LED and thereby cause the reflected light to head for the other end of the lens. Diffusion surfaces formed on the top surface and the bottom surface of the lens radiate diffused light upward of the lens, causing uniform light to be radiated from the whole top surface of the lens.

  • Publication number: 20090059179
Abstract: For enabling to prevent ill effects from being generated in the structures of a reflection mirror, even if increasing an output energy from a light source, thereby preventing ill influences from being exerted on the driving condition thereof, a mirror drive controller unit 7 reads out history data of the past, relating to temperature changes on a micro mirror 1, from a first LUT holder unit 19. Upon basis of the read-out history data of the past is presumed the temperature on the micro mirror 1 at the present time. The presumed temperature on the micro mirror 1 is temperature P temp of the micro mirror 1 at the present time, and upon that P temp are changed vibration (or oscillation) condition of the micro mirror 1 in the horizontal (H) direction and vibration (or oscillation) condition thereof in the vertical (V) direction.

  • Publication number: 20090031315
Abstract: Thread information is retained in a main memory. The thread information includes a bit string and last executed information. Each bit of the bit string is allocated to a thread, and the number and the value of the bit indicate the number of the thread and whether or not the thread is in an executable state, respectively. The last executed information is the number of a last executed thread. A processor rotates the bit string so that a bit indicating the last executed thread comes to the end of the bit string. It searches the rotated bit string for a bit corresponding to a thread in the executable state in succession from the top, and selects the number of the first obtained bit as the number of the next thread to be executed. Then, the thread information is updated by changing the value of the bit of this number to indicate not being executable, and setting the last executed information to the number of this bit. This operation is performed by using an atomic command.

  • Publication number: 20080297683
Abstract: A direct type backlight unit used in a liquid crystal display device is provided which can suppress lowering of luminance at an electrode portion of a linear light source. A reflecting plate is formed on a side wall of a box-shaped reflector close to an end of a linear light source. The reflector reflects light beams from the linear light source to be guided toward a liquid crystal panel. The reflecting plate on the side wall has at least two inclined surfaces. The inclined surfaces may have a stepped shape or a convex ridge shape. According to this arrangement, it is possible to reduce or eliminate decrease of the luminance level at ends of an effective display area of a liquid crystal panel.

  • Publication number: 20080271024
Abstract: In a micro processor unit, when processing to be requested to another processor unit which connects via a network, occurs during task processing in a task processing unit in an application SPU, a communication controller in a PU specifies a network with which a processor unit, which is a request destination, connects. An interface selector in the application SPU selects one network included in the specified networks, with the view of communication capability or the like, and writes that information in a look-aside buffer. In case that processing for the same processing target is requested next time and after that, a system SPU or the PU transmits the processing request depending on required communication capability.

  • Publication number: 20080165329
Abstract: In a projection type display apparatus using plural light sources, an optical unit including plural light sources, a first collimator lens, an optical coupling lens, an image display element and a projection lens is formed, and in an optical path extending from the light sources to the projection lens, light is condensed only once on the image display element, thereby minimizing the number of optical parts used and shortening the length of the optical path from the plural light sources up to the projection lens to attain the reduction in size of the projection type display apparatus or the optical unit. In this way it is possible to provide a projection type display apparatus or an optical unit each capable of attaining the reduction of cost by minimizing the number of optical parts used and capable of attaining a high luminance by irradiating the image display element with the light emitted from the light sources without leakage of the light.
