  • Patent number: 6882635
Abstract: A method for preventing interference between electromagnetic (EM) signals, consisting of toggling a first transceiver, adapted to transmit in a first EM frequency band, and a second transceiver, adapted to transmit in a second EM frequency band, different from the first EM frequency band, between an on-period when the first transceiver is able to transmit and the second transceiver is prevented from transmitting, and an off-period when the first transceiver is prevented from transmitting and the second transceiver is able to transmit. The method further includes inhibiting a third transceiver, adapted to transmit in the first EM band, from transmitting during the off-period, and inhibiting a fourth transceiver, adapted to transmit in the second EM band, from transmitting during the on-period.

  • Patent number: 6813256
Abstract: In a GSM mobile wireless telecommunications system, a method for conveying signaling between a mobile station and a base station via a CDMA air interface includes generating a signaling message based on a GSM interface standard. Data link services are provided to process the message for transmission over the CDMA air interface, and the processed message is then transmitted over the CDMA air interface. Preferably, the data link services are provided by a data link layer, which produces an IS-95 message for transmission.

  • Publication number: 20030065817
Abstract: A method for transferring data, by establishing network links between a private and a public network. Each link is associated with a respective unique public-network-address. Each session of one or more data packets within the private network is allocated an extended-private-address, the private network being adapted to transfer each data packet in a respective session using at least part of the extended-private-address as an identifying private-network-address. For each session the extended-private-address is translated to an extended-public-address, which includes one of the unique public-network-addresses. The data packets of each session are conveyed between the private and public networks via the link associated with the public-network-address of the respective session, and are transmitted within the public network using at least part of the extended-public-address as an identifying public-network-address.

  • Publication number: 20020197992
Abstract: In a mobile wireless telecommunications system, which includes base stations (30) of a first type operating over a first air interface, and base stations (32) of a second type operating over a second air interface, a method for reselection by a mobile station (40) camped on a cell associated with a first base station (30), which is of the first type, of a second base station (32), which is of the second type. The method includes receiving signals over the second air interface from the second base station (32) and evaluating a characteristic of the signals. Responsive to the characteristic, the second base station (32) is selected in place of the first base station (30), and the mobile station (40) camps on a cell associated with the second base station (32).

  • Patent number: 6320873
Abstract: A method for conveying packet data from a CDMA mobile station to a GSM network, including communicating with a GSM service node to establish a data link from the mobile station to the network via a radio communications base station. The packet data are conveyed between the mobile station and the base station over a CDMA air interface and are then transferred over the link between the base station and the network.
