Abstract: A system and method for displaying information to a user of a telephone during a telephone call may include requesting information from a plurality of applications in response to receiving data indicative of a telecommunications device during a telephone call. The information may include information associated with a second user of the telecommunications device. The information received from the applications may be displayed for the first user to view during the telephone call.

Abstract: A system and method for establishing connection of an IP telephone to a network may include, in response to receiving a registration request from an IP telephone, generating a command to cause network access devices to ping the IP telephone. The command may be communicated to the network access devices. Ping information may be received in response to the network access devices pinging the IP telephone. A network access device may be selected that has the highest quality network access path to the IP telephone. In response to selecting the network access device that has the highest quality network access path, a network address of the selected network access device may be communicated to a network device to enable the IP telephone to communicate with the selected network access device. Credentials may be communicated to the IP telephone to register with the selected network access device.

Abstract: A system and method for communicating search results. User input is received to perform a search of a communications network. The search is performed based on the user input to generate search results. The search results and multiple selection elements are displayed for communicating each of the search results to one or more receiving parties. A user selection of one or more of the multiple selection elements associated with one or more receiving parties is received. The search results are communicated to the one or more receiving parties in response to the user selection.

Abstract: A system and method for wireless conferencing. A personal wireless device is linked with a conferencing system for implementing a conference call. Voice input is received from a user through the personal wireless device. The voice input is transmitted to the conferencing system in response to receiving the voice input. The voice input is broadcast through one or more speakers in communication with the conferencing system in response to determining the voice input may be inaudible to one or more users in a room.

The first communications signals may be processed using a special services card to generate second communications signal. The second communications signal may be communicated to a line termination unit operating externally from a BBDLC. The second communications signal may be processed by the line termination unit to generate a third communications signal. The third communications signal may be communicated to a transport card operating in the BBDLC. By externally processing special services signals from the BBDLC, bandwidth of the BBDLC may be utilized more efficiently.

Abstract: An embodiment of a method for routing an incoming call includes receiving an incoming call addressed to a single phone number associated with a plurality of users at a network routing device. The method further includes determining, by the network routing device, an incoming caller identifier associated with the incoming call and determining, by the network routing device whether the incoming caller identifier matches at least one caller identifier in a caller list associated with at least one particular user of the plurality of users. If the caller identifier matches a caller identifier in a caller list associated with the particular user, the incoming call is routed, by the network routing device, to at least one telephone associated with the particular user.

Abstract: A system and method schedules jobs in a cluster of compute nodes. A job with an unknown resource requirement profile is received. The job includes a plurality of tasks. Execution of some of the plurality of tasks is scheduled on compute nodes of the cluster with differing capability profiles. Timing information regarding execution time of the scheduled tasks is received. A resource requirement profile for the job is inferred based on the received timing information and the differing capability profiles. Execution of remaining tasks of the job is scheduled on the compute nodes of the cluster using the resource requirement profile.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing digital video recorder services with a portable wireless device (PWD). The PWD includes at least a transceiver, a processing unit and a memory unit. The transceiver receives a video content signal transmitted from a broadcaster of mobile broadcast digital TV, and an electronic program guide (EPG). Abstract: A system and method for forwarding a telephone call includes routing a telephone call from a calling party to a first telephone of a called party. A determination may be made that the telephone call was not answered by the called party. A determination may be made as to whether the telephone call is to be forwarded to an unrelated second telephone within a predetermined distance of the first telephone. Geographic coordinates of the first telephone may be determined. A determination of geographic coordinates of at least one second telephone may be made. A determination as to whether the at least one unrelated second telephone is within the predetermined distance of the first telephone. An unrelated second telephone determined to be within the predetermined distance of the first telephone may be selected. The telephone call may be forwarded to the selected unrelated second telephone.

The selective call feature request message includes a selective call feature command. The method further includes enabling a selective call feature indicated by the selective call feature command for the first communication device. In various embodiments, the selective call feature request message is a text message. In some embodiments, the method further includes sending a selective call feature acknowledgment message to the second communication device. The selective call feature acknowledgment message indicates that the selective call feature is enabled for the first communication device.

In certain embodiments, a first image is displayed on two or more displays in response to receiving an incoming call for providing a visible indicator for alerting a user of an incoming call. Still, in some embodiments, the first image is a current profile image of a caller retrieved from a network device associated with a social networking website.

Abstract: The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to a method and apparatus for managing frequencies used by devices. In one embodiment, the process detects a set of frequencies from a set of devices to form a set of assigned frequencies. The process may also detect a first frequency used by a first device. The process may determine whether the first frequency interferes with the set of assigned frequencies. The process may also identify an unassigned frequency for use by the first device in response to determining whether the first frequency interferes with the set of assigned frequencies.

Abstract: A system and method for implementing do-not-disturb during media content. Do-not-disturb is implemented during playback of the media content in response to a selection of media content. An incoming communication is received. The incoming communications is sent directly to voice mail during the playback.
