  • Patent number: 7689624
Abstract: A search system and method is provided. The method includes constructing a graph-based query that is indicative of a user's preference-levels for different features of a search item (a product, for example). The constructed graph-based query is executed by comparing the user's preference-levels for the different features of the product, which are graphically represented in the query, with information related to sentiments expressed by other users regarding the product. Information related to the sentiments expressed by other users regarding the product can include system-generated product performance graphs constructed from comments regarding the product obtained from the World Wide Web (or other network). Results returned and output upon execution of the graph-based query include system-generated product performance graphs that are similar to the user-submitted query.

  • Patent number: 7685201
Abstract: Described is a technology for disambiguating data corresponding to persons that are located from search results, so that different persons having the same name can be clearly distinguished. Name entity extraction locates words (terms) that are within a certain distance of persons' names in the search results. The terms are used in disambiguating search results that correspond to different persons having the same name, such as location information, organization information, career information, and/or partner information. In one example, each person is represented as a vector, and similarity among vectors is calculated based on weighting that corresponds to nearness of the terms to a person, and/or the types of terms. Based on the similarity data, the person vectors that represent the same person are then merged into one cluster, so that each cluster represents (to a high probability) only one distinct person.

  • Publication number: 20090277614
Abstract: The heat conduction structure includes a first heat conduction plate, a second heat conduction plate and at least one heat pipes. The second heat conduction plate is positioned below the first heat conduction plate. A pair of walls extends from two opposite edges of the second heat conduction plate. The walls connect to a bottom surface of the first heat conduction plate. A receiving space is defined between the first heat conduction plate and the second heat conduction plate. At least one heat pipe is arranged in the receiving space and sandwiched between the first heat conduction plate and the second heat conduction plate. Each heat pipe has a heat absorbing section and a plurality of heat emitting sections extending from each heat absorbing section. A plurality of heat dissipating passages is defined between the at least one heat pipe and the walls. The heat emitting sections are partially positioned in the heat dissipating passages.

  • Publication number: 20080249764
Abstract: A sentiment classifier is described. In one implementation, a system applies both full text and complex feature analyses to sentences of a product review. Each analysis is weighted prior to linear combination into a final sentiment prediction. A full text model and a complex features model can be trained separately offline to support online full text analysis and complex features analysis. Complex features include opinion indicators, negation patterns, sentiment-specific sections of the product review, user ratings, sequence of text chunks, and sentence types and lengths. A Conditional Random Field (CRF) framework provides enhanced sentiment classification for each segment of a complex sentence to enhance sentiment prediction.

  • Publication number: 20080249762
Abstract: A method and system is provided for classifying documents based on the subjectivity of the content of the documents using a part-of-speech analysis to help account for unseen words. A classification system trains a classifier using the parts of speech of training documents so that the classifier can classify unseen words based on the part of speech of the unseen word. The classification system then trains a part-of-speech model using the parts of speech of the n-grams of training data and labels of the training documents, and trains a term model using the term unigrams and labels. To classify a target document, the classification system applies the part-of-speech model to the part-of-speech n-grams of the target document and the term model to term n-grams of the target document.

  • Publication number: 20080215571
Abstract: This disclosure describes various exemplary methods, computer program products, and user interfaces that provide results for a product review search with opinion snippets and opinion visual graphs. This disclosure describes identifying user opinions by extracting passages that contain subjective opinions from web pages; ranking the user opinions by incorporating sentiment orientations and sentiment topics, where the sentiment orientations are positive or negative; and generating review snippets to indicate user sentiment orientations and to describe user opinions toward product features. This disclosure improves a user product search experience from the following aspects: understanding the product review from snippets instead of browsing the web page; obtaining more information by reading reviews in a shorter time period; and obtaining overall opinions of users of the web through visualized opinion summarization.

  • Publication number: 20060198429
Abstract: An isolating circuit of transmitting and receiving paths in the same frequency carrier comprises a directional coupler, a phase adjuster, and a mixer. The directional coupler couples a transmitting signal on the transmitting path to the phase adjuster. There is a 90-degree phase difference between an output signal of the phase adjuster and the transmitting signal. The mixer shifts the output signal of the phase adjuster by a 90-degrees phase. Due to poor isolation, a leakage signal is leaked from a transmitting path to a receiving path. The leakage signal is mixed with an output signal of the mixer on the receiving path, and the two signals cancel each other.

  • Patent number: 6605020
Abstract: The present invention relates to a treadmill whose speed is controlled by music. An audiosource is installed on the console of the treadmill. The music outputted by the audiosource passes through an amplifier and a band-pass filter takes out the frequency wave at certain range from the music, thereby avoiding unnecessary interference. Besides, a microprocessor is used to enable the driving motor of the walking belt to continuously change its speed according to the music rhythm and intensity. Moreover, the operator of the treadmill adjusts his walking speed to the music rhythm so that the speeds of the music, the motor and the operator are integrated into one speed, thereby enhancing the exercising fun without feeling tired. Furthermore, the operator can move in accordance with the music rhythm, thereby reaching the body shaping effect.

  • Patent number: 5736771
Abstract: A multi-level memory cell structure, and a method of fabrication thereby is disclosed. In a mask ROM memory device, the conventional binary data storage cell is replaced with a 16-level data storage cell. The 16-level cell is programmed with a selected one of 16 values by forming a void in a portion of the word line over the memory cell having one of 16 widths corresponding to the preselected code to be stored therein. The portion of the word line associated with the coded memory cell has an effective remaining width corresponding to the preselected code. When the memory cell is enabled by activating its associated word line, due to the variable width of the word line forming the gate of the memory cell, one of 16 discrete currents flow in the 16-level memory cell structure. The current is indicative of the preselected code stored in the cell.
