  • Publication number: 20030062074
Abstract: The present invention relates to a simplified controlling apparatus of an automatic umbrella, which includes a control loop and an elastic control bar. A handle with a single button is provided to receive the controlling apparatus. The simplified structure of this controlling apparatus can effectively control an automatic opening and closing of the umbrella that obtains a utility improvement.

  • Publication number: 20020112750
Abstract: The present invention relates to a five-folded umbrella frame, which mainly provides a new hooked connecting structure between the extended rib and the frame for facilitating the manufacturing and assembling of an umbrella. Under the improved assembly, the frame obtains a better flexibility and the umbrella can be opened or closed smoothly. This provides improvement and utility.

  • Publication number: 20020104558
Abstract: The present invention relates to a two-folded automatic opened umbrella, which includes a shaft having an upper tube and a lower tube. An upper joint is provided on the top of the shaft and a middle joint is provided around the upper tube while a runner is provided around the shaft below the middle joint. An upper spring and a lower spring are put in the upper tube to provide the force for opening the umbrella. An extended rib is positioned within a triangle composed by the shaft, a main rib, and an upper branch rib to assist the umbrella being closed smoothly and being small occupation as closed. This obtains improvement and utility.

  • Patent number: 6415805
Abstract: A closing mechanism used in an automatic quadruple folding collapsible umbrella is provided that comprises a pair of rollers and a round pin that cooperate with a rope to perform a closing operation. The pair of rollers is provided on one side of the umbrella runner. The round pin is disposed on the cap and orientated in the same direction as the rollers. With that mechanism, the rope extending from the interior of the umbrella rod passes to the outside through an opening in the cap to be routed around the rollers and the pin and finally tied to the cap. Thus the rope of the mechanism is longer, five times longer than the distance between the rollers and the round pin.

  • Publication number: 20020062850
Abstract: An improved multiple folding collapsible umbrella structure consists of an umbrella rod, an umbrella stretcher system mounted on the upper portion of the umbrella rod, and an actuating mechanism attached to the lower end of the umbrella rod and urged by a driving mechanism. The actuating mechanism has an inner seat, in which a groove is formed to accommodate a compression spring and a retainer ring. A movable block along with a spring is housed in the longitudinal central hole of the inner seat. An intermediate element is attached to the outer wall surface of the movable block, with its side protrusion extending through a spring seated in the through hole on the cylindrical wall of the movable block. A push block is arranged on the outer side of the intermediate element.

  • Patent number: 6354042
Abstract: An improved umbrella runner structure is disclosed. The improvements are primarily the design of partition flanges on the top face of the runner. Two thick partition flanges in conjunction with two coupling portions of the runner form four compartments arranged symmetrically. Each compartment can accommodate the inner ends of two stretchers so that a total of eight stretchers are attached to the runner to form an eight-stretcher system. The umbrella stretcher system using the runner according to the invention has the advantage of enhanced strength and simplified construction and it can reduce the possibility of being damaged while it can reach a more compact size than a prior art one. Besides, it also provides convenience in carrying.

  • Patent number: 6332472
Abstract: A retracting mechanism used in an automatic multiple collapsible umbrella. The mechanism primarily consists of a spring, one end of which is attached to a second umbrella stretcher and the other end connected to a flexible rib and an umbrella strut. When the umbrella is collapsed, the restoring force of the spring will directly urge umbrella stretchers and ribs to move toward the central umbrella rod. The mechanism of the invention can produce an effect of smoothly collapsing umbrellas with less acting force. In addition, there is only one hole required for the attachment of the umbrella strut and flexible rib. Thus it also has the effects of enhanced strength and shortened manufacturing processes.
