  • Patent number: 6465996
Abstract: A constant voltage circuit robust to the input voltage lowering is disclosed. The invention is applied to a constant voltage circuit fed with an input voltage through first and second power conductors for transferring the input voltage to a load as an output voltage through an output transistor. An inventive constant voltage circuit is provided with a substitute circuit, responsive to a detection of the lowing of the input voltage to a predetermined voltage, for providing a substitute output path that is connected in parallel with the output transistor. Doing this minimize the degree of lowering of the second voltage due to the lowering of said first voltage. The output transistor may be nay of NPN and PNP transistors and P-type and N-type MOS FETs.

  • Patent number: 6407593
Abstract: In an electromagnetic injector control apparatus for an engine, a capacitor is connected to a power supply and a solenoid of an injector for accumulating electric charge at a voltage higher than that of the power supply. A driving circuit controls transistors to supply energy from the power supply to the solenoid during an operation period of the solenoid. The driving circuit also controls a transistor so that a timing to start supplying the accumulated energy from the capacitor to the solenoid is delayed from a timing to start the operation of the solenoid as the voltage of the capacitor increases. Thus, the accumulated energy is used to speed up the operating response of the solenoid. The supply of the accumulated energy to the solenoid is stopped when a current flowing in the solenoid reaches a predetermined cut-off level.

  • Patent number: 6354507
Abstract: To provide a paper sheet discriminating apparatus and method capable of discriminating even a paper sheet such as a US dollar bill, in which the location of a pattern is dislocated from the periphery due to a printing shear or a cutting dislocation, efficiently without any drop of the discrimination percentage by using the image of the paper sheet. A paper sheet discriminating apparatus for deciding at least the kind of a paper sheet on the basis of its pattern by sampling the image of its whole surface. The dislocation of the pattern, as viewed from the contour, is detected on the basis of the marginal length of the paper sheet from the outer periphery to the pattern, thereby to correct a pixel position for providing a base point for the image recognition of the paper sheet, with the detected dislocation.

  • Patent number: 6203182
Abstract: A water drain includes an outer opening formed on a flange of a lamp body, a recess formed on a flange of a lens, a path formed between the flanges, and a slope rising toward the lens and the lamp body. Water splashed by a front wheel of a motorcycle is downwardly reflected by the slope on the lens, thereby reducing the amount of water entering via the outer opening. Furthermore, the outer opening is tapered toward its inner side which makes it difficult for water to pass therethrough. Still further, front and rear indicators can be realized using common components.
