    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a secondary battery is provided. The secondary battery includes a positive electrode, an aqueous electrolyte, a separator, and a negative electrode including a negative electrode active material-containing layer. The negative electrode active material-containing layer includes negative electrode active material particles and solid electrolyte particles having lithium ion conductivity. The porosity of the negative electrode active material-containing layer is within a range of 0.1% to 28%. The water content of the negative electrode active material-containing layer is within a range of 0.01 g/cm3 to 0.4 g/cm3.
