  • Patent number: 4915116
Abstract: A fingertip pulse wave sensor includes a fingertip supporting base having either a nail supporting surface or a fingertip cushion supporting surface, and a slider having the other of the nail supporting surface and the fingertip cushion supporting surface. The slider is guided on the fingertip supporting base in such a manner as to be slidable in the direction in which it is moved away from or toward the fingertip supporting base. The slider is urged in the direction in which it is moved toward the fingertip supporting base by an elastic body which is capable of applying a substantially fixed amount of pressure with respect to the variations in the slide stroke in the direction in which the slider is moved away from the fingertip supporting base which occur when different fingertips are set.

  • Patent number: 4807656
Abstract: A valve device for preventing fuel effusion from a fuel tank, including a casing having an inlet port in the forward position and an outlet port in the rearward position for evaporated fuel, a valve body disposed in a casing so as to be movable in the direction along the axis line connecting the inlet port and the outlet port so that it can interrupt the communication between the inlet port and the outlet port, a steel ball disposed in the valve body so as to be movable rollingly in the direction of said axis, thereby moving the valve body by the rolling action. The axis is arranged so as to be slanted by a specific angle with respect to the horizontal direction of a vehicle body, thereby making it possible for the valve body not to maintain the communicaiton interruption between the inlet port and the outlet port when the fuel level variation in the fuel tank becomes remarkable.

  • Patent number: 4665948
Abstract: An electromagnetic fluid flow control valve mechanism has a hollow slide valve linearly movable on and along a core in response to energization of a coil disposed around the slide valve for selective fluid communication between a inlet port and first and second outlet ports through a chamber in a casing. The ratio of a cross-sectional area of the inlet port to that of each of the first and second outlet ports is selected such that the chamber will develop a relatively small vacuum such as of 20 mmAg at maximum. Preferably, the ratio is 6.5 or greater. This arrangement prevents a fluid, typically air, from flowing from the second outlet port back into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4585028
Abstract: A motor-driven proportional fluid flow control valve has a linear motor including a slide valve body slidably mounted on a hollow iron core and an electromagnetic coil wound around the iron core. After a drive circuit has been energized, a constant current is passed through the electromagnetic coil to keep the slide valve body spaced from a stop surface while cutting off fluid communication between an inlet port and an outlet port. With the slide valve body out of contact with the stop surface, the slide valve does not produce noise which would otherwise be given off due to a fluctuating current flowing, through or vibrations of, the electromagnetic coil.

  • Patent number: 4183372
Abstract: An altitude compensation valve assembly comprising a housing structure having a bellows and a check valve unit. The check valve unit is supported for movement between a closed position, where communication between a fluid under pressure introduced into an inlet port of the valve assembly is discommunicated from the atmosphere, and an opened position where such communication is established. The check valve unit is normally biased towards the closed position and is moved towards the opened position when the pressure introduced through the inlet port exceeds a predetermined value determined in consideration with change in a altitude in which the valve assembly is operated to compensate for reduction in pressure resulting from change in altitude.
