  • Patent number: 6835054
Abstract: A pump chamber defines a capacity increased in a first certain angle range and decreased in a second certain angle range. An intake port is open in an increase range where the pump chamber moves from a minimum capacity position to a maximum capacity position. A discharge port is open in a decrease range where the pump chamber moves from the maximum capacity position to the minimum capacity position, the discharge port being biased to the minimum capacity position. A seal land portion seals a communication between the intake port and the discharge port via the pump chamber. A reduced portion is defined between a communication portion and the pump chamber. A bypass path connects the communication portion with the discharge port. A relief valve intervened in the bypass path opens the bypass path with a pressure of the communication portion increased to or over a set pressure.

  • Publication number: 20030150787
Abstract: An oil filter unit has a drain valve device. The valve comprises a retainer axially movably received in a cylindrical bore of a drain passage at a position upstream of a valve seat. The retainer has a valve member holding end. A valve member is axially movably received in the retainer in such a manner as to be movable between a closed position where the valve member closes a drain bore of the valve seat and an open position where the valve member opens the drain bore. A coil spring is arranged to bias the retainer relative to the valve seat in such a direction as to cause the valve member to take the open position. The retainer has a projected portion that projects into the interior of a filter housing. When a filter element is properly set in the filter housing, the projected portion is pressed down to shift the retainer to a position to allow the valve member to take the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6353201
Abstract: A plurality of electrode bars are arranged in parallel with each other, and side electrode bars are connected to the corresponding opposite ends of the electrode bars, thereby forming a ladder-like RF discharge electrode. Power supply points are arranged axisymmetrically with respect to a reference line, which is a bisector which bisects one side of the RF discharge electrode, while being spaced a predetermined distance from the reference line, thereby suppressing voltage distribution on the ladder electrode, which has an effect on uniformity of discharge distribution, to a sufficiently low level of nonuniformity. Thus, uniform distribution of film deposition rate can be obtained, thereby enabling uniform deposition even in large-area applications.

  • Patent number: 6352085
Abstract: A pressure relief valve for an oil pump of an automotive internal combustion engine. The pressure relief valve comprises a wall defining thereinside a valve accommodating bore. The wall is formed with a plurality of pressure relief holes including first and second pressure relief holes through which oil in the valve accommodating bore is releasable to an outside of the valve accommodating bore. A valve body is provided to be slidably movable in the valve accommodating bore and along the wall under balance between oil pressure acting on the valve body in a first direction and biasing force of a spring acting on the valve body in a second direction opposite to the first direction. In this arrangement, the second pressure relief hole is opened after the first pressure relief hole is opened to have a maximum cross-sectional opening area in a process of movement of the valve body in the first direction along the axis of the valve accommodating bore.

  • Patent number: 5821626
Abstract: A film carrier comprising, on a laminate of an insulating layer and a conductive circuit, a conductive part to be connected to an external substrate and an energy introduction part to supply an energy to connect a semiconductor element, a semiconductor device, and a method for mounting a semiconductor element. The present invention has enabled provision of fine-pitched or highly dense wiring of a semiconductor element, and assures easy and dependable electric construction of the present invention wherein an energy for connection is supplied from the energy introduction part to make a connection of a film carrier to semiconductor element is advantageous in that attenuation of the energy for connection due to an insulating layer occurs less, since the energy for connection can be directly introduced into conductive circuit, thus enabling efficient utilization of the energy, which in turn permits easy and efficient mounting of a semiconductor element.

  • Patent number: 5692465
Abstract: A main rocker arm is supported for swinging motion to operate one of the intake and exhaust valves of an internal combustion engine. A high-speed rocker arm is supported on the main rocker arm for swinging motion according to rotation of a high-speed cam rotating in synchronism with engine rotation. The high-speed rocker arm has a slip surface for engagement with the high-speed cam. The high-speed rocker arm is drivingly connected to the main rocker arm for swinging motion in unison with the main rocker arm when the engine is operating at a high speed. The driving connection is released to permit swinging motion of the main rocker arm according to rotation of a low-speed cam independently of the swinging motion of the high-speed rocker arm when the engine is operating at a low speed. The slip surface of the high-speed rocker arm is made of an alloy tool steel having carbide deposited and dispersed to provide a hardness of HRC55 or more to the slip surface.

  • Patent number: 5435276
Abstract: A main rocker arm driven by a first cam, and a sub-rocker arm driven by a second cam larger than the first cam, are supported adjacent to each other. A sliding member which moves together with the sub-rocker arm, and a contact piece which comes into contact with the sliding member according to the slide position of the sliding member, are provided on the main rocker arm. The sliding member moves between a position where it is in contact with the contact piece and a position where it is not in contact with the contact piece according to the engine running conditions. The sliding member and contact member are constructed of iron or an iron alloy, while the main rocker arm is constructed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. The construction of the cam change-over mechanism is therefore rendered lightweight, and machining of the main rocker arm is rendered facile.
