  • Patent number: 4802831
Abstract: A compressor has stationary and orbiting scroll members formed thereon with spiral wraps engaged with each other to define compression chambers which, when the orbiting scroll member is moved relative to the stationary scroll member, are radially inwardly moved while decreasing their volumes. Each scroll member is composed of a metallic base scroll member having a spiral wrap formed on one side and a coating layer of a resin compound formed on the said side of the scroll member, including the surfaces of the wrap. The coating layer is molded by placing the base scroll member in a mold cavity with a space left between the said side of the base scroll member and a mold part and by injecting the resin compound into the space.

  • Patent number: 4365476
Abstract: Condensation system for use in a power plant. The condensate system includes side stream condenser defining therein first and second hot wells. Condensate is delivered from the first to second hot well through a condensate feed line. Condensate is introduced from the condensate feed line into a tank through a first spill-over line. Condensate is supplied from the second hot well to the power plant through a main condensate feed line. Condensate is introduced from the main condensate feed line into the tank through a second spill-over line. Actuator is operative in response to signal from a level detector detecting level of condensate in the first hot well, to regulate opening degree of a supplementary feed valve in the supplementary feed line, to close one of first and second spill-over valves in the first and second spill-over lines, respectively, and to open the other spill-over valve.

  • Patent number: 4353213
Abstract: A side stream type condenser which has a first hot well for condensing steam exhausted from a turbine and storing the condensed water and a second hot well for storing the purified condensed water to prepare for water feed to a main system includes a partition plate for defining the two hot wells. The partition plate is formed with a weir portion so that part of the condensed water in the second hot well may overflow to keep a fixed water level. The weir portion is constructed in the shape of a labyrinth and is formed with a passage normally filled up with the condensed water, and a space in the upper part of the second hot well communicates with the upper space of the first hot well through this passage only. The condensed water in the first hot well is fed to a purifying system disposed outside, and is purified therein.

  • Patent number: 4275563
Abstract: A power generating plant which includes a direct contact-type heat exchanger. A low-boiling point medium such as freon and a heat-source medium such as heated oil, are injected from a lower portion of the heat exchanger so that the two media are brought into direct contact with each other thereby vaporizing the gaseous low-boiling point medium. The low-boiling medium acts as a working fluid while it circulates through a closed cycle of the plant which includes a turbine and a condenser. The heat-source medium, circulates in a closed cycle of the plant which includes a heating unit.

  • Patent number: 4262485
Abstract: A low boiling point medium power plant in which heated waste gas, such as furnace gas, geothermic steam, etc., is used as a heat source for heating an intermediate thermal medium by means of an indirect heat exchanger, and the intermediate thermal medium is used as a heat source for heating a turbine driving low boiling point medium by means of a direct heat exchanger. The indirect heat exchanger and the direct heat exchanger are rendered into a unitary structure and contained in a sealed housing together with a turbine, a generator and a condenser, whereby a compact overall size can be obtained in a low boiling point medium power plant.

  • Patent number: 4187685
Abstract: A method and system for effecting control governing of a steam turbine wherein the steam chamber of a first stage nozzle is divided into a plurality of steam compartments, control valves each connected to one of the steam compartments are individually operated for controlling the flow rate of steam introduced into the turbine, and the governing of the nozzle is effected by adjusting the flow rate of steam in accordance with a load. At low load, the degree of opening of the control valves is kept constant and the turbine is driven by steam of a reduced pressure by reducing the pressure of the steam at the inlet of the turbine so as to maintain, in a low load region, the volume flow rate of steam for a high load region. To cope with a change in the value of the load, the degree of opening corresponding to a predetermined change in the value of the load is set beforehand for each control valve.
