  • Publication number: 20160026131
Abstract: A fixing device includes: a cylindrical film; a nip forming member; and a back-up member for forming a nip. The nip forming member includes a projected portion. A projection amount of the projected portion is smaller in an end portion region positioned at an end portion of the projected portion with respect to a generatrix direction of the film than in a central region positioned at a central portion of the projected portion with respect to the generatrix direction, at least a part of the end portion region being inside a feeding region of a maximum-sized recording material usable in the fixing device. With respect to the recording material feeding direction, a width of the part, of the projected portion, inside the nip is broader in the end portion region than in the central region.

  • Patent number: 9229351
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an exposure device having an adjustment period for adjusting an output while exposing a photosensitive drum to light prior to image formation and a developing device. The developing device is configured to change between a contact state where the photosensitive drum and a developing roller are in contact with each other and a separation state where they are separated from each other. The developing device changes from the separation state to the contact state when a portion on the photosensitive drum exposed to light in the adjustment period of the exposure device is at a developing position.

  • Publication number: 20150362876
Abstract: An acquisition portion acquires a rate of a size of a toner image being formed in a predetermined area on a recording material to a size of the predetermined area, in a consecutive print job, a control portion sets a longer conveyance interval between a preceding recording material and a subsequent recording material when the rate of the subsequent recording material exceeds a threshold than when the rate of the subsequent recording material does not exceed the threshold, and the predetermined area on a trailing end side of the recording material with respect to a center of the recording material in a recording material conveying direction is larger than the predetermined area on a leading end side of the recording material with respect to the center of the recording material, or the predetermined area is only on the trailing end side of the recording material.

  • Publication number: 20150346660
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a fixing portion for fixing a toner image on a sheet by heating the sheet while feeding the sheet, the fixing portion including a cylindrical film, a heater contacting an inner surface of the film, a roller cooperative with the heater to form the nip between the film and the roller; a sensor for detecting a heater temperature; a feed controller for controlling sheet feeding. In image formation on a second sheet continuously after forming the image on a first sheet, the sensor detects a temperature change in a predetermined period in which the nip does not feed the sheet and which is after the first sheet passes through the nip and before the second sheet reaches the nip, and the feed controller changes a feeding interval between the first and second sheets in accordance with the temperature change.

  • Patent number: 7127157
Abstract: When the length of the vertical synchronizing signal constantly differs from that of the standard signal, writing of data into the shuffling memory and readout of data therefrom are asynchronous so that overwriting and mixture of data will occur. To deal with this a memory for three frames is used for the shuffling memory. This makes it possible to effect shuffling without causing data mixture.

  • Patent number: 7098531
Abstract: A jumper chip component of the present invention includes a connection conductor formed of a conductive layer over an upper face and opposite side faces of an insulating substrate, and a conductive material formed of a conductive layer between plates of the insulating substrate and on a side face at the corner of the insulating substrate so as not to be electrically connected to the connection conductor. Since the conductive material formed between the plates of the insulating substrate opposes the connection conductor formed on the upper face of the insulating substrate, the connection conductor formed on the upper face of the insulating substrate and a second conductive pattern disposed under the insulating substrate are shielded from each other by the conductive material, and good isolation is possible.
