  • Patent number: 7587629
Abstract: Data processing can be performed even if a trouble occurs in a hard disk device. If a trouble occurs in a first hard disk device, it is recognized that a spare hard disk device is on standby, and operation of the spare device is checked. The first hard disk device is switched with the spare hard disk device, the data is processed and output. During this process, the first hard disk device is initialized. When the first hard disk device becomes available, the spare hard disk device is switched with the first hard disk device. If the first hard disk device is unavailable, an error is notified to an administrator to request repair or replacement.

  • Patent number: 7305457
Abstract: When preparing print data by a personal computer, identification data corresponding to the print data is also prepared. The print data is transmitted via a network to a printer, and the identification data is transmitted to a portable phone by wireless, and stored in a memory in the portable phone. When a user approaches the printer carrying the portable phone, the identification data is transmitted to the printer by wireless. The printer carries out image output processing based on the print data corresponding to the received identification data. Thus, in a control system for an electronic device such as an image output device, operation control can be conducted by each print job, and by such operation control, the whole system including an electronic device and data preparation means such as a personal computer can be controlled more efficiently.

  • Publication number: 20070070385
Abstract: Image data in local memory is constantly erased to prevent leakage of old image data on the occurrence of a trouble. Input image data is stored in a used area of local memory. When processing of the image data is completed, a data erasure task is executed to erase the image data in the local memory. If new image data is input during the execution of the data erasure task, the data erasure task is stopped. When processing of the new image data is completed, the data erasure task is resumed from the stopped position.

  • Patent number: 7161697
Abstract: An image transmitting apparatus according to the invention is configured such that destination-identifying information and a data format of the image data are registered, in one set, in a one-touch transmission key so that, by operating the one-touch transmission key, the image data can be transmitted to the intended destination in the predetermined data format. Moreover, in the image transmitting apparatus of the invention, it is possible to perform image transmission via a first transmission route, e.g., for electronic mail which accepts a plurality of file formats, and image transmission via a second transmission route such as an Internet FAX route which accepts a predetermined file format only, and, in registering destination-identifying information together with a corresponding file format in a one-touch transmission key, the predetermined file format is set when the second transmission route is set as a transmission route.

  • Patent number: 7050188
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a facsimile apparatus which increases communication efficiency by classifying destinations into groups. Destinations inputted through an operation panel are classified into groups based on registration data stored in a registration memory of a destination judging section, and stored in a memory. A control section controls transmission of image data by group in the memory.

  • Patent number: 6240264
Abstract: During warming up such as carried out upon power application, a first or second condition managing section monitors the status of an always changing device such as an image station and a fixing device, and based upon the current status of the device and the features of data for print jobs that have been received, a control section determines the order of the jobs to be printed out and carries out the corresponding output. Therefore, it is possible to efficiently output images without delay in handling image data even during warming up upon power application.

  • Patent number: 6151464
Abstract: When a user approaches a digital copying machine, an ID card which the user is holding is detected (S1), and an ID number of the same is checked by communication between the ID card and the digital copying machine (S2). Print jobs corresponding to the detected ID number areb listed up (S4), and the print jobs corresponding to the ID number are outputted (S6). An order of output, timings of output, and a current state of output, of the print jobs can be displayed according to the ID number. Thus, an image output processing apparatus which is capable of controlling print jobs according to ID numbers is designed so as to execute various controls such as output processing control according to ID numbers, thereby to be an image output processing apparatus highly convenient for the users.
