  • Publication number: 20020165920
Abstract: A method for facilitating multicasting of a file to a plurality of end users is disclosed herein. The method includes an operation for multicasting control service information for reception by a plurality of end user download devices and an operation for receiving a plurality of requests for reception of offered content designated in the control service information. The requests are received from a group of the end user download devices. In response to receiving in the requests, an operation is performed for multicasting the offered content for reception by each one of said end user download devices in the group. A multicast-capable distribution network facilitates multicasting of the control service information, facilitates receiving the requests for reception and facilitates multicasting the offered content.

  • Publication number: 20020154637
Abstract: A method for facilitating inverse multiplexing over asynchronous transfer mode is disclosed herein. The method includes receiving a stream of sequentially aligned ATM cells via an originating end point logical communication link. A sequence identifier is associated with each one of the ATM cells for creating sequence-identified ATM cells. The sequence-identified ATM cells are forwarded to a destination endpoint logical communication link in a distributed manner over a plurality of IM communication links. A first one of said IM communication links has disparate data transmission rates in at least one data transmission direction with respect to a second one of the IM communication links.

  • Patent number: 6137538
Abstract: Bus system (1, 2, 3) for a television signal processing device for transferring video data (d8) of at least one video data source (8) and/or supplementary data (d10) of one or more supplementary-data sources (10) between a transmitter (1) and a receiver (3) by means of a bus (2), wherein at the transmitter end (1), a single data stream (d2) for the bus (2) is formed from the video (d8) and/or supplementary data (d10) by means of an interface circuit (4). The interface circuit (4) combines the video and/or supplementary data, source by source, into blocks (db; db1, db2) following each other successively in time and containing identification data (dk; sk, ik) for start and end, or start and length, and content identification, and transfers the blocks serially.

  • Patent number: 5768496
Abstract: A microprocessor fault logging arrangement includes a detector for detecting hardware and software faults 3, 4, 8, which produce an interrupt signal which is applied to the non-maskable interrupt input NMI of microprocessor 1 and, which is also applied via delay circuit 5, to the RESET input of microprocessor 1. The NMI input causes microprocessor 1 to store the state of selected system parameters in a log of fault records stored in a non-volatile memory 2, the selected parameters being stored for fault analysis each time an NMI input signal is generated interrupt signal is applied to the NMI input. The delay circuit 5 allows sufficient time for the selected parameters to be stored in the non-volatile memory 2 before the microprocessor is reset.

  • Patent number: 5566659
Abstract: In a method and device for driving an electromagnetic load, especially a solenoid valve, which influences the fuel quantity to be injected into an internal combustion engine, the duration of the drive of the solenoid valve can be corrected by a delay time. The delay time can be predetermined as a function of the power supplied to the load.

  • Patent number: 5553184
Abstract: A process for applying fiber optical bundles comprising optical fibers for isual and measurement-related purposes is provided, in which process light is coupled into the fiber optical bundle on a launching side and is extracted from said fiber optical bundle on an output side. In so doing, the individual optical fibers are labelled on the output side, and following separation of the optical fibers, their output-sided representation of the coordinates are determined through threshold formation. Then the optical fibers determined on the output side are defined on the launching side; and their coordinates are also defined. Finally the position of the individual optical fibers at the output end are converted to the coordinates of the respective optical fiber at the launching end.

  • Patent number: 5515470
Abstract: A process for reconstructing a picture coupled into a fiber optical bundle 1) comprising optical fibers (2) is provided. It is immaterial for this process whether the optical fibers (2) are parallel or totally random in the fiber optical bundle (1). The prerequisite is that the launching sided and output sided coordinates of each optical fiber (2) are known. The picture coupled into the launching side (3) is reconstructed with the aid of the gray tones passed on by the optical fibers (2) to the output side (4). To this end a grid (5), comprising grid field (6) that are connected together without any gaps, is laid over the launching sided arrangement of the optical fibers (2).
