  • Publication number: 20060168341
Abstract: One embodiment of the disclosures made herein is a method for implementing multicast control in a point-to-multipoint tree. In accordance with such method, an operation for translating a network element interface identifier associated with a first network element from a first type of network element interface identifier to a second type of network element interface identifier. The operation for translating the network element interface identifier generates a translated network element interface identifier corresponding to the second type of network element interface identifier and transmits the translated network element interface identifier from the first network element for reception by a second network element in response to successful translating the network element interface identifier. After initiating the operation for translating the network element interface identification, an operation is performed for creating a designated root of a point-to-multipoint tree.

  • Patent number: 7068657
Abstract: A method for facilitating inverse multiplexing over asynchronous transfer mode is disclosed herein. The method includes receiving a stream of sequentially aligned ATM cells via an originating end point logical communication link. A sequence identifier is associated with each one of the ATM cells for creating sequence-identified ATM cells. The sequence-identified ATM cells are forwarded to a destination endpoint logical communication link in a distributed manner over a plurality of IM communication links. A first one of said IM communication links has disparate data transmission rates in at least one data transmission direction with respect to a second one of the IM communication links.

  • Publication number: 20060112315
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for controlling operational sequences, in particular in a vehicle. In this context, a functional unit (3) for forwarding and receiving data via at least one connecting unit (4) is in contact with at least one bus system (2). • Publication number: 20050265473
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and method for processing received data (I1/Q1, I2/Q2; d1, d2) of a radio interface, wherein the received data includes a sequence of data which have been transmitted for the purpose of error reduction through different branches of a carrier (Rk) of the radio interface, and which are combined into a sequence of data (DATAOUT) to be outputted, wherein the combining is implemented on the basis of carrier information values (Req,k, SINRk) of the different branches (k) relative to each other. A maximum ratio combining (MRC) is implemented in which the amplitudes of the branches of the carrier information (Req,1, (Req,2) are combined using a division method as a function of a disturbance information value (MIX, SINR1, SINR2) of the branches (k).

  • Patent number: 6964192
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for monitoring a torque of a drive unit (1) of a vehicle (5) are suggested. The method and arrangement make possible a reliable detection of a fault condition for an essentially constant actuation of an operator-controlled element. The torque, which is to be monitored, is compared to a permissible torque. The permissible torque is readjusted to the torque, which is to be monitored. A fault is detected when the torque, which is to be monitored, deviates from the permissible torque by more than a first pregiven value. The fault is only detected for the case wherein a position of an operator-controlled element, especially an accelerator pedal position, lies within a pregiven tolerance range at least since a first pregiven time.

  • Publication number: 20050251308
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling a functional unit of a motor vehicle are provided. In the method, a function sequence is implemented in a functional program. The functional program is verified here by a safety program, which is in turn monitored by a monitoring module. Like the safety program, the functional program has a modular structure. The monitoring of the safety program is accordingly implemented in multiple stages corresponding to the number of modules.

  • Patent number: 6918064
Abstract: A method and a device for monitoring data and the transmission of data between at least one first control unit and one second control unit are provided. The at least two control units have a first program level, to which are allocated programs which calculate the control function, as well as a second program level including programs that monitor the functional reliability of the programs of the first program level. The first control unit is connected to at least one component which may be used to acquire data, for example, controlled variables. The data acquired by the component or further data determined with this data may be transmitted from the first control unit to the second control unit over a single connection in a secure manner, and the data and the data transmission are secured separately in the first and second program levels such that errors in the data and the data transmission may be detected.

  • Patent number: 6732714
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine, a real fuel quantity (rk_w), supplied from a high-pressure region of a fuel system into a combustion chamber of the engine, depends on a real rotational moment. In addition, the control duration (dwmsvo) of a volume control valve, with which the fuel supplied from a fuel pump into the high-pressure region can be affected, depends on the difference between a real pressure and a determined pressure (prist) in the high-pressure region. The supply output of the fuel pump, which supplies into the high-pressure region, depends in turn on the rotational speed (nmot) of a crankshaft of the engine.

  • Publication number: 20040032879
Abstract: One embodiment of the disclosures made herein is a method for facilitating prescribed application functionality via a network element adapted for providing Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexing (DSLAM) functionality. In accordance with such a method, a first functionality server implements server-specific functionality whereby information associated with the server-specific functionality is generated. In response to implementing the server-specific functionality, information in a universal interface format is transmitted for reception by a first access server from a first functionality server. The first access server is connected between the network element and the first functionality server. After receiving the information, the information is translated from the universal interface format to a system-compatible interface format. The translating is performed by the first access server and the system-specific interface format is different than the universal interface format.

  • Publication number: 20030145102
Abstract: One embodiment of the disclosures made herein is a method for facilitating a multicast group switch via a single Internet Group Management Protocol message. In accordance with such method, an operation for receiving an Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) Membership Report message designating a request for altering a present membership status with respect to designated multicast information. The IGMP message is transmitted from a requesting system. An operation is performed for determining a membership action associated with the IGMP Membership Report message. In response to determining the membership action, an operation is performed for preparing a membership acknowledge message. The membership acknowledgment message designates a resulting membership status associated with the request for altering the present membership status. An operation is then performed for transmitting the membership acknowledge message for reception by the requesting system.

  • Patent number: 6588257
Abstract: The plausibility check takes place in such a way that a first piece of load information is derived as a function of the throttle valve position and a differential pressure determined from the pressure upstream of the throttle valve and the pressure downstream of the throttle valve. In addition, a second piece of load information is derived as a function of the intake valve lift and the engine speed. The smaller of the two pieces of load information is compared with the measured load. If this measured load deviates from the load information an error of the measured load is signaled.
