  • Publication number: 20100146375
Abstract: A method of producing a sound or video stream is based on a so-called tweaky file and an original file. The tweaky file includes actions and time stamp(s) associated with each action. The original file includes sound or video content. An action is selected in the tweaky file. The time stamp(s) associated with the selected action is obtained from the tweaky file. The point or segment of the original file corresponding to the obtained time stamp(s) is identified. The selected action is executed on the identified point or segment. Then, the steps of selecting, obtaining, identifying and executing are repeated, for the next actions in the tweaky file, to produce the sound or video stream. The invention also relates to an apparatus, computer-readable medium, computer-readable file, signal and computer program.

  • Publication number: 20100093373
Abstract: A system receives information associated with locations of multiple people, where the information is derived based on each of the multiple people's use of an electronic device. The system cross-references the locations of the multiple people to locations of one or more places where people get together to determine a number of the multiple people who are located at the one or more places. The system further provides a visual representation of a popularity of each of the one or more places to a user device based on the determined number of the multiple people who are located at the one or more places.

  • Publication number: 20100075702
Abstract: Aggregator devices and methods are disclosed for establishing device interaction in an environment containing other electronic devices and the aggregator device. The aggregator device has a transmitter, receiver, memory storing interaction rules, and a processor for implementing the interaction rules in association with the transmitter, receiver, and other devices of the environment. The methods involve transmitting a message to the aggregator from a first device, referencing rules of device interaction for the environment, and then according to the rules of device interaction, transmitting a message from the aggregator to a second device. The rules of device interaction may include instructions that are to be transmitted from the aggregator in response to the aggregator receiving change of state messages from devices of the environment.

  • Publication number: 20090282429
Abstract: A device may track one or more viewers, and determine, for each of the one or more viewers, a location of the viewer in accordance with the tracking. In addition, the device may determine, for each of the one or more viewers, a stereoscopic image that is to be viewed at the location, the stereoscopic image consisting of a right-eye image and a left-eye image. Further, the device may control display settings of a display to provide, via the display, each of the one or more viewers with the stereoscopic image associated with the viewer.

  • Publication number: 20090110246
Abstract: A mobile device obtains user input of message media for transmission to a remote device. The mobile device comprises a user interface including a display screen displaying information in accordance with a selected emotional indicator and an input device for obtaining the user input of the message media. A storage comprising a plurality of records, each associated with one of a plurality of predetermined emotional categories. A camera is directed towards the user for capturing an image of the user's face at a time proximate to user input of the message media. An emotional categorization module categorizes the image of the user's face to one of the plurality of predetermined emotional categories and selects the emotional indicator associated therewith as the selected emotional indicator.

  • Publication number: 20090113009
Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed for establishing device interaction among electronic devices of a device environment and a notification device interfaced with the user. Notification devices allow the user to communicate directly with the device environment, such as by entering information in a mobile phone that has a wireless connection to the environment. A device of the environment has a first transmitter and receiver for communicating with other devices, such as a notification device within the environment. In the instance where a notification device is located remotely, the device of the environment may also include a second transmitter and receiver for communicating with the remotely located notification device through a remote communications transport. A memory stores interaction rules and translation rules, and a processor implements the interaction rules and translation rules to establish interaction with the notification device.

  • Patent number: 7512577
Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed for establishing interaction among electronic devices of an environment. The device has a transmitter, receiver, memory for storing interaction rules, and a processor for learning the interaction rules in association with the transmitter, receiver, and other devices of the environment. The device also includes components for performing the device specific functions and a state sensor for determining the logical or physical state of the device. Methods involve observing at one or more devices change of state activity among the plurality of devices through receiving a change of state message that is transmitted to the one or more devices. A set of rules are learned at the one or more devices based upon observing the change of state activity. The learned set of rules are then applied at the one or more devices to automatically control changes of state of devices within the plurality of devices.

  • Publication number: 20080284620
Abstract: Disclosed is are a system and a method for accepting user input in the form of movement of an object against a surface of a electronic device. The movement may take the form of natural writing-style stokes that generate corresponding vibrations. The vibrations may be sensed and analyzed to ascertain meaningful user input. In one approach, a method of processing user input with an electronic device includes sensing vibrations generated by movement of an object against a surface of the electronic device and analyzing signals representative of the sensed vibrations to determine a meaningful user input.

  • Publication number: 20080090552
Abstract: The present invention is directed towards solving the problem of providing additional information to a user of a telecommunication device (100,42) during setting up of a telecommunication connection, by presenting a media file to the first end user in depence of signal information directed towards the first end user. A method therefore comprises receiving selecting of a second user from the first end user (step 302), setting up the telecommunication connection from the first end user to the second user (step 306), providing a media file (step 304), receiving a first signal information related to alerting the second user (step 308), and presenting the media file to the first end user in dependence of receiving the first signal information (step 312), such that the first end user can receive an enhanced experience during the setting up of the telecommunication connection.

  • Publication number: 20060272030
Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed for controlling content within a device environment through interaction among electronic devices of the environment. The device has a transmitter, receiver, memory storing interaction rules and content rules and a processor for implementing the interaction rules and content rules in association with the transmitter, receiver, and other devices of the environment. Methods involve obtaining content information of the media about to be played and comparing the content information to the content rules stored at a device. An instruction about playback of the media content is generated. Methods may also involve seeking rights information for media content and determining whether rights information exists for identified media content in response to the request. When rights information does exist for the identified media content, a message is sent that includes the rights information.
