  • Patent number: 6683999
Abstract: In a data communication apparatus for encoding information data by using a predetermined encoding method, encoded information data is transmitted isochronously with a predetermined communication cycle when the encoding method corresponds to a decoding method at an object node apparatus and non-encoded information data is transmitted asynchronously with the communication cycle when the encoding method does not correspond to the decoding method at the object node apparatus. It is therefore possible to perform an encoding process for the information data to be transmitted, in accordance with a decoding performance at the object node apparatus, to improve a communication efficiency, and to reduce a capacity of a memory used for communications.

  • Patent number: 6069994
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed which is arranged to record a video signal in first areas respectively provided in a multiplicity of tracks on a recording medium and also a digital still-image signal in second areas which are respectively separated from the first areas. In the apparatus, while the digital still-image signal is being recorded in the second areas, the video signal is always recorded in the first areas, whereby it is possible to prevent occurrence of an uncomfortable phenomenon, such as formation of a scene devoid of a substantial image, during reproduction from the first areas. In addition, an analog still-image signal, representative of an image identical to an image represented by the digital still-image signal recorded in the second areas, is repeatedly recorded in the first areas during a predetermined time duration, whereby it is possible to facilitate search of a still-image signal recorded in the second areas.

  • Patent number: 6031569
Abstract: In order to display a high resolution still image by using a single image sensor type image sensing apparatus employing a single relatively low resolution CCD, an image of an identical object is taken four times in short time intervals. Each time the image sensing operation is carried on, it is controlled that an imaging position on a photo-sensing surface of the CCD is shifted by one pixel. Color signals of the plurality of color components which are obtained as above are stored in a predetermined areas in an image memory by each color component. After four image sensing operations are completed, the color signals are read from the image memory, and the final color signals or brightness signals are generated based on the read color signals, and displayed on a display.

  • Patent number: 5495342
Abstract: A video signal recording apparatus for recording of a still-image signal on a recording medium can be set to an interval recording mode for recording a still-image signal at intervals of a predetermined time interval. First time data relative to a recording time according to the amount of information of the still-image signal for one picture is compared with second time data relative to the predetermined time interval. If the first time data is greater than the second time data, a notice to that effect is given for the purpose of preventing an operation error. In addition, a similar advantage can be achieved by displaying the first time data. Also, if the first time data is greater than the second time data, the apparatus is disabled from being set to the interval recording mode.

  • Patent number: 5317455
Abstract: A recording system comprises an image pick-up recording device to record the picture information obtained through the image pick-up on a recording medium by a recording head; and a control device to change the relative location of the head and the medium after the information of one picture has been recorded in a predetermined location on the medium and to prevent the next picture information from being read out during the period of time until the completion of that displacement. The recording system may be provided with a memory for the picture information and a control device for allowing part of the picture information to be recorded in the selected portion on the medium. The control device also permits the other portion of the picture information stored in the memory to be recorded in the other portion on the medium after changing the relative location of the head and the medium.

  • Patent number: 5124851
Abstract: A data recorder comprises a first rotary head and a second rotary head which traces a tape-shaped recording medium travelling at a given speed by following recording tracks formed by the first rotary head. When an error of data reproduced from any of the recording tracks by the second rotary head is detected while data is being recorded by the first rotary head, the first rotary head is caused to record, in another track, data which is identical with the data reproduced from the above stated track depending on the data error occurring state of the track.
