  • Patent number: 4807047
Abstract: An EL device having an electrode arrangement including first electrodes and at least one row of second electrodes intersecting the first electrodes and energized by a combination of the first and second electrodes. The second electrodes are divided into a plurality of sub-electrode portions. The electrode arrangement is such that the first electrodes each comprise a plurality of segments that are commonly-connected and intersect different sub-electrode portions. Another electrode arrangement is such that the first electrodes are arranged in a belt form and intersect different sub-electrodes portions in a meander manner. The EL device can be applied to an electrophotographic printing system as an optical system for forming a latent image. EL elements are repeatedly energized with the same data to give a sufficient intensity of light on a light sensitive medium, and deenergized for a time in which the intensity is decreased to a low level.

  • Patent number: 4745676
Abstract: A magnetic head of a construction, wherein first and second magnetic cores each having a magnetic gap are joined together with first and second non-magnetic structures, and the lamination is such that the first magnetic core is in contact with the second non-magnetic structure, and that the second magnetic core is in contact with the first non-magnetic structure, the magnetic head having its feature in that it is made up of the magnetic core members and the non-magnetic core members which are combined in the form of a letter "W" in its cross-section having mutually parallel and upright leg portions.

  • Patent number: 4710833
Abstract: Floppy disk transducer heads 5a, 5b are mounted by gimbal springs 6a, 6b to facing sides of a radially movable carriage 9 and a loading arm 7 pivotally mounted to the carriage and biased theretowards by a flexible spring blade 8. An abutment stop 18 upstanding from the carriage engages a lower surface of the loading arm to prevent any further pivoting thereof towards the carriage beyond a position whereat the heads lightly pinch the opposite disk surfaces with a desired tracking force exclusively determined by the gimbal springs.

  • Patent number: 4630155
Abstract: A magnetic head shifting apparatus for flexible disk memory system wherein kinetic energy of an arm is absorbed by means of a cushioning material interposed between the arm and an abutment of a shackle rod thereby to reduce a transient period of time which is the one until the memory medium and magnetic heads reach their stable state, while damage of the memory medium is suppressed in steady state, whereby stable electromagnetic conversion characteristics can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4585686
Abstract: A two-layer structure molded by using thermoplastic resin is provided in the instant invention. Said two-layer structure comprises one layer (a) of thermoplastic resin in which no electroconductive filler is mixed, and the other layer (b) of thermoplastic resin in which electroconductive filler is mixed wherein one or more projections which penetrate said layer (b) are formed on said layer (a).

  • Patent number: 4423449
Abstract: Disclosed is a movable magnetic head block assembly for a double sided flexible magnetic disk storage device, wherein a pair of mutually opposed disk contacting surfaces, at least one of which comprises an electromagnetic transducer head, are in contact under pressure with the opposite sides of a magnetic disk so that information can be recorded or retrieved from the disk. To enable the unimpeded exchange of disks, an arrangement is provided whereby at least one of the disk contacting surfaces is mounted on an individual flexibly mounted retractable support arm which is normally urged under pressure against a stop, in the direction of the disk to place the disk contacting surfaces in position for normal operation, but which can be retracted against that pressure, thus withdrawing the disk contacting surface away from the surface of the disk, so that the disk may be exchanged without impediment.

  • Patent number: 3971837
Abstract: A composite foamed synthetic resin bowling pin is formed by first placing a base support element composed of a disc element and having a central sleeve with a hollow reinforcing tube secured thereto and an annular collar with an outwardly extending transverse flange thereon of lesser diameter than the disc element in one end of an undesired mold cavity. The peripheries of the disc elements and flange are disposed in recesses in the mold cavity wall. A foamable thermosetting resin reaction mixture is cast in the mold cavity and foamed and cured. The resulting assembly is then inserted in second mold of larger diameter and of the size of the final product. A molten thermoplastic resin is then introduced into this second mold cavity to form a thermoplastic shell on the assembly and which shell is interlocked with the collar on the base support element.
