  • Patent number: 6722604
Abstract: An automatic machine and method of winding of armatures having maximum coil density because the winding nozzle does not enter into the slots between the pole teeth and the wire is directed toward the core portion of the armature during winding to improve coil density.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 25, 2002
Date of Patent: April 20, 2004
    Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Moric

  • Patent number: 6685126
Abstract: Armature structures and methods that provide very dense coil windings and afford very rapid winding methods at a relatively low cost. In addition the likelihood of damaging the already wound wires by contact with the winding nozzle is substantially eliminated. This is achieved by moving the winding needle in varying distances and directions away from the pole teeth to induce varying degrees of slack in the wire during the winding and when the needle is not in the slot between the pole teeth.

  • Patent number: 6680553
Abstract: A brushless DC rotating machine that employs permanent magnets on the rotor and a magnet carrier that is juxtaposed to the rotor and which cooperates with a sensor for providing signals indicative of the angular position of the rotor. The magnets are carried by a magnet carrier that is disposed radially inwardly of the armature windings of the stator so as to provide a compact assembly.

  • Patent number: 6590310
Abstract: A number of embodiments of rotating electrical machines and methods for winding them that provides a high space utilization and very effective winding with less likelihood of damage to the insulation of the wire of the winding during the winding process. The arrangement basically does not require the winding needle to be moved back and forth in the slot between the poles but rather employs insulating inserts that are positioned on the axial faces of the poles outside of the gaps for guiding the wire from one end to the other so as to provide the high space utilization.

  • Patent number: 6566779
Abstract: An improved armature winding arrangement for a rotating electrical machine such as a specifically illustrated DC motor for driving a vehicle wheel. The assembly is such that the armature core can be formed from two laminated pieces that are rigidly connected to each other and held against axial movement. This eliminates the need for bonding adhesive. In addition, an improved bobbin arrangement is employed for both permitting attachment of a wiring plate directly to the core but also for retaining the ends of the individual windings to prevent them from becoming loose either during assembly or in operation.

  • Publication number: 20030085313
Abstract: Two embodiments of winding methods and apparatus for winding coils of a rotating electrical machine where the armature teeth are skewed. The winding mechanism and method operates so that the winding needle does not have to enter to the bottom of the slots between the pole teeth but the wire is wound around the pole teeth from one end thereof with an arrangement for causing the windings to progressively move down the pole teeth as the winding continues.

  • Publication number: 20030062782
Abstract: Several embodiments of electric power assisted manually operated devices wherein the manual input force is sensed by a sensor that does not require lost motion connections and significant movement in order to determine the force applied. Also a compact drive is disclosed that permits the application to winding drums such as fishing reels. In addition a simplified temperature compensation system for the sensor is employed. Thus, the arrangements can be easily utilized with conventional structures with minimum change.

  • Patent number: 6465973
Abstract: Several embodiments of improved 2-phase DC brushless motors. In each embodiment, there are pluralities of windings and the current flow through the windings is controlled by a reduced number of main switches from the prior art type of devices. In accordance with a feature of certain embodiments, pair of windings are provided with a common CT that detects the current flowing through the connected pair of windings and which functions to control the main switching device in a pulse width modulated manner. As a result, the control circuit can be simplified and reduced in cost without sacrificing performance.

  • Publication number: 20020130578
Abstract: Several embodiments of permanent magnet type three-phase AC rotary electric machines wherein the phase current flow is formed by parallel circuits formed by a plurality of serial circuits each comprising one or a plurality of stator coils so that electromagnetic voltage or counter electromagnetic voltage generated across opposite ends of the plural serial circuits may be always almost the same. Thus, a circulating current does not flow in the parallel circuits, whereby the efficiency of the rotary electric machine can be improved. Also, since the line current circuit of each of the phases is constituted of a parallel circuit, the current flowing in each of the stator coils is small so that the diameter of the stator coil wire can be small. Thus, the winding of the coils can be improved. Also, the processing of the coil terminals is facilitated and the processed portions of the terminals can be made small, resulting in a compact rotary electric machine.

  • Publication number: 20020074887
Abstract: A number of embodiments of rotating electrical machines using permanent magnets wherein the cogging torque is substantially reduced as are vibrations caused by magnetic flux variations. This is accomplished by disposing the coil windings in equal circumferential spacing and disposing the associated permanent magnets in non-symmetrical relationship so that the gaps between some of the magnets are different. In addition, the coil windings are such that no two coils of any phase are immediately adjacent each other in a circumferential direction. A method for calculating the optimum spacing is also disclosed.
