  • Patent number: 6339984
Abstract: Pistons, which are reciprocated by a swash plate of a compressor, have two separate parts joined together. Each piston has a body and a coupler. The coupler is connected to the swash plate. The body is made of thermosetting resin. The body is molded to the coupler. Accordingly, the piston body to be firmly connected to the coupler.

  • Publication number: 20020006338
Abstract: A single-headed piston type swash plate compressor, realizing a lighter weight, provided with a housing internally defining and forming cylinder bores, a crank chamber, a suction chamber, and a discharge chamber; single-headed pistons accommodated in the cylinder bores to be able to reciprocate therein; a drive shaft driven by an external drive source and supported rotatably by the housing; a swash plate supported by the drive shaft to be rotated synchronously with the drive shaft; and a pair of shoes provided at the front and rear of the swash plate for driving the pistons; wherein the shoes are mainly comprised of a resin.

  • Publication number: 20020006336
Abstract: A swash plate compressor provided with a housing internally defining and forming cylinder bores, a crank chamber, a suction chamber, and a discharge chamber; pistons accommodated in the cylinder bores to be able to reciprocate in them; a drive shaft driven by an external drive source and supported by the housing; a swash plate synchronously rotatably supported with respect to the drive shaft; and shoes at the front and rear of the swash plate for driving the pistons; wherein the shoes are mainly comprised of a magnesium-based material.

  • Publication number: 20010054352
Abstract: The sliding characteristics of the sliding portions, where components slide on each other, are improved and the work of coating forming thereof is simplified. DLC coatings (43) and (44) are formed on a front surface (39) and a rear surface (40) of a swash plate (22) by a CVD method or a PVD method. Therefore, the sliding characteristics of the sliding portion (47) between the swash plate (22) and shoes (27) and (28) are improved and abrasion or seizure occurs less frequently on the surface of the swash plate (22) and flat surfaces (35) and (36) of the shoes (27) and (28).

  • Patent number: 6283012
Abstract: A compressor piston that smoothly slides in a cylinder bore and a coating method for manufacturing such pistons. Coating material is applied to a piston to form a coating layer. The principal components of the material include fluororesin and a binder. The coating layer is not ground. Therefore, fluororesin, which migrates to the surface of the coating layer, is not removed by grinding, which permits the piston to resist friction.

  • Patent number: 5941160
Abstract: A piston for a compressor. The piston has a lubricating coating that slidably contacts with an inner surface of the cylinder bore. The layer is formed on the surface of the piston. The layer is formed by transferring a liquid material to the surface of the piston using printing techniques such as screen printing and roller coating.
