  • Patent number: 7016773
Abstract: A control system for a hybrid vehicle, which enables the hybrid vehicle to optimally selectively use driven modes to attain excellent fuel economy and thereby make it possible to improve fuel economy. The hybrid vehicle is operated in an engine-driven mode or a motor-driven mode, and recovers electric energy for driving an electric motor, using the output from the engine. The control system calculates a driving fuel consumption amount of the engine required for driving the hybrid vehicle in the engine-driven mode and a recovering fuel consumption amount of the engine required for recovering electric energy to be consumed when the hybrid vehicle is driven in the motor-driven mode, and sets the driven mode to the motor-driven mode when the recovering fuel consumption amount is smaller than the driving fuel consumption amount, and to the engine-driven mode when the former is larger than the latter.

  • Patent number: 7013853
Abstract: A valve control system for an internal combustion engine, which enables the operating mode of a valve system to be switched in optimal timing while preventing the driver from feeling the switching operation so busy and at the same time securing feeling of acceleration, thereby improving drivability. A variable valve-actuating mechanism is capable of selectively switching the operating mode of a valve system including intake valves and an exhaust valve between a plurality of operating modes different in output characteristics. Whether or not the operating mode of the valve system should be switched is determined. The execution of the switching of the operating mode of the valve system based on the determination is suppressed according to a degree of suppression set depending on detected load on the engine.

  • Patent number: 5182231
Abstract: The wiring of a semiconductor device having a multilayer interconnection on a semiconductor substrate is modified. A plurality of fine holes are formed on an insulation film by the radiation of a converged energy beam to expose selected ones of the internal lines of the underlying wiring. A thin buffer film of Cr, Ti, TiN, or W is formed along a path where an additional connection line is to be deposited. The path extends along an upper surface of the insulating film at least in and between the said fine holes. The additional connection line is deposited on the buffer film by energy beam CVD, using Mo, W, or Al, to interconnect the exposed internal lines. The additional connection line is annealed by radiating an energy beam thereon to reduce its resistance. A further insulating film is deposited covering the additional connection line by energy beam CVD.
