  • Patent number: 6747209
Abstract: A clamp has an annular strap section enclosing an interior space and defining an opening between opposite ends of the strap section. A pair of insertion engagement sections are at opposite ends of the strap section. The insertion engagement sections stand outwardly and oppose each other at opposite ends of the opening. Each insertion engagement section includes an axle plate portion projecting from an end of the opening. A wing portion is bent down from a distal end of the axle plate portion. A stepped latching portion is formed on a distal end of the wing portion. A dimension of the opening is set to be narrower than a diameter of a wire harness to be contained in the interior space. • Publication number: 20040046088
Abstract: A one-piece band clamp that simplifies the installation of a wire harness. The band clamp includes a band portion whose separated ends form a space, and a pair of insertion members, each formed at an end of a band portion adjacent to the space. The insertion members include insertion plates, lock fingers which include lip portions extending outward and downward from the upper edge of the insertion plates, a lock claw formed on at least one insertion plate, and at least one lock notch formed on the facing insertion plate. The wire harness is inserted into a band portion through the space, the lock claws are hooked over the lock notches to join insertion members, which are then inserted into an aperture in a vehicle body panel. • Patent number: 6595425
Abstract: A Portable information appliance having a PC card slot is equipped with a card locking mechanism that is actuated in operative association with insertion of the PC card to prevent theft of the PC card and enhance ease of use. When a PC card is inserted into an opening, a release support member which operates in association with the PC card is actuated and a side arm is thrust forward in operative association with the release support member. An internally accommodated projecting portion, which is slidably attached to the distal end of the side arm and has a first locking portion on its first end, is thrust outwardly by the side arm. When the projecting portion emerges to the exterior, it turns about a support point, becomes parallel to the opening, is slid and secured, thereby closing the opening.

  • Patent number: 6596942
Abstract: The object of the invention is to reduce the number of colors provided on electrical cables wired in a vehicle. The unitary wire harness containing the greatest number of electrical cables is taken as the critical harness. The critical number of different color markings is then determined from the following formula: R=A/B+C/B  (I) wherein A is the number of electrical cables contained in the critical unitary wire harnesses, B is the number of connectors to be engaged with the critical unitary wire harness, and C is the number of terminal receiving elements contained in all of the connectors. The critical number of different cable color markings thus obtained allows the reduction of the number of different cable color markings, and the electrical cables of the same cable color marking can be differentiated when they are connected to a connector.
