  • Publication number: 20060199062
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a solid polymer electrolyte membrane in which a polyazole-based compound is uniformly mixed with a perfluorocarbonsulfonic acid resin. Thus, the present invention provides a solid polymer electrolyte membrane for solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell, which has high durability, as well as a membrane electrode assembly and a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell, each containing the same. The inventive solid polymer electrolyte membrane is produced by a method which comprises a polymer electrolyte-containing solution preparation step of dissolving a perfluorocarbonsulfonic acid resin (component A) having an ion-exchange capacity of 0.5 to 3.0 meq/g, a polyazole-based compound (component B) and an alkali metal hydroxide in a protic solvent to prepare a polymer electrolyte-containing solution in which a weight ratio of the component A to component B, (A/B), is from 2.3 to 199 and a total weight of the component A and the component B is from 0.

  • Publication number: 20050209421
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide a vinyl monomer containing a superacidic ester group useful in the production of ionomers for polymer electrolyte fuel cells, and its production process. In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide a polymer produced from said vinyl monomer and its production process, as well as a process for producing a polymer containing a superacidic group from said polymer. The inventive vinyl monomer contains a haloalkyl ester group of a superacid, wherein the number of carbon atoms of the haloalkyl ester group is no more than 10, and the halogen in the haloalkyl group is chlorine and/or fluorine. A polymer containing said vinyl monomer as a repeating unit can be converted to a polymer containing a superacid group using at least one procedure of 1) heat treating at 50° C. to 350° C., and 2) contacting with a protic compound.

  • Patent number: 5603882
Abstract: The invention is directed to an improved method and apparatus for a forward extrusion piercing which is able to pierce a long through-hole of slenderness (length/hole diameter) 5 or the like in a hot blank with a high accuracy by one stroke of the piercing punch so as to produce hollow metallic products. In the process, a hot blank forged with a determined outer shape is set on a lower die, and an upper die assembly is provided with the piercing punch, a holding guide and an upper die coaxially with the lower die. Downward movement of the upper die assembly enables the holding guide to hold the blank and then the punch moves down with a retention by a through-hole of the holding guide through which the punch passes, against transverse displacement of the punch. The tip of the punch is adapted to enter a through-hole of a receiver die at its lower stroke end in order to cut off redundant piece of the blank.
