  • Patent number: 7433411
Abstract: A decoding apparatus for selectively decoding compressed video or audio signal included in a data signal. The decoding apparatus includes a demultiplexer that receives and separates a data signal from a compressed input signal. A video decoder and an audio decoder are provided to decode compressed video or audio signals stored in a decoder buffer. The decoding apparatus uses a memory to store the data signal separated by the demultiplexer, and a CPU to analyze the data signal stored in the memory. The CPU causes the data signal analyzed by the CPU to be stored in the decoder buffer if the analyzed data signal includes a compressed video signal or a compressed audio signal, and the compression method used for the compressed video signal or the compressed audio signal included in the data signal can be decoded by the video decoder or the audio decoder.

  • Publication number: 20070286284
Abstract: The present invention provides an image coding apparatus and an image coding method for reducing arithmetic processing while keeping a high compression ratio. A coding process necessary for the bi-prediction motion search can be effectively reduced by determining a block size for a bi-prediction motion search or a center position for a motion search on the basis of a result of a motion search of a unidirectional prediction. Further, a compression ratio can be also kept as high as possible, because the block size or the center position are obtained on the basis of the result of the motion search of the unidirectional prediction.

  • Patent number: 7289563
Abstract: A security camera system having one or more monitoring cameras, each of which transmits a digital video signal after compressing/encoding, are connected to a controller via a network. In the controller, a media control section stores the video signal supplied from the monitoring cameras in a storage medium and reads out the video signal as needed. Image processing for privacy protection is carried out to the real-time video signal supplied from the monitoring camera and the video signal read out from the storage medium. The level of the image processing for privacy protection is switched depending on the authority of a user who views the video image. Further, even for the same user authority, the image processing level for privacy protection is switched and adjusted depending on the size of the object in the video image.
