    Abstract: An anti-reflection film comprises a high refractive index layer having a refractive index of 1.65-2.40, and a low refractive index layer having a refractive index of 1.20-1.55. Another anti-reflection film comprises only a low refractive index layer having a refractive index of 1.20-1.55. In the invention, the first improvement resides in a high refractive index layer composed of inorganic fine particles having a mean particle size of 1-200 nm in an amount of 5-65 vol. % and a crosslinked anionic polymer in an amount of 35 to 95 vol. %. The second improvement resides in a low refractive index layer composed of inorganic fine particles having a mean particle size of 0.5-200 nm in an amount of 50-95 wt. % and a polymer in an amount of 5-50 wt. %, and two or more of those particles are piled up to form micro voidsby the adjacent particles.

The liquid crystal display has an optical compensatory sheet between at least one side of the liquid crystal cell and the polarizing sheet, the optical compensatory sheet having an optically negative uniaxial property and an optic axis parallel to a plane of the sheet.

    Abstract: A process for preparation of a light-sensitive material containing microcapsules is disclosed. The light-sensitive material comprises a light-sensitive layer provided on a support. The microcapsules are dispersed in the light-sensitive layer. The process of the present invention comprises the steps of: (1) mixing a silver halide emulsion and the reducing agent or the photopolymerization initiator with the polymerizable compound to prepare a light-sensitive composition; (2) emulsifying the composition in an aqueous medium to prepare an aqueous emulsion; (3) forming a shell around the droplets of the composition contained in the aqueous emulsion to prepare a microcapsule dispersion; (4) coagulating the aqueous medium to set the microcapsule dispersion; (5) storing the set microcapsule dispersion; (6) melting the aqueous medium to prepare a coating solution of the light-sensitive layer; and (7) coating the solution on the support.

    Abstract: An image forming method of imagewise exposing and heating a light-sensitive material is disclosed. The light-sensitive material comprises a support and a light-sensitive layer provided thereon. The silver halide, the reducing agent, the polymerizable compound, the color image forming substance and the base precursor are contained in microcapsules which are dispersed in the light-sensitive layer. According to the present invention, the support is made of a thin polymer film having a thickness of not more than 75 .mu.m. The light-sensitive material is heated from the side of the support for 0.1 to 5 seconds.
