  • Patent number: 8342536
Abstract: A sealing device that hermetically seals a gap between a first member and a second member that is reciprocally movable with respect to the first member. The sealing device seals liquid supplied into a pressurizing chamber surrounded by the first member and the second member. The sealing device includes a seal member that is attached to the second member. The seal member slides relative to the first member while being in contact with the first member. The seal member includes a base portion and a protruding portion. The protruding portion protrudes from the base portion toward the first member to separate the first member from the base portion. After the liquid is supplied into the pressurizing chamber to fill the pressurizing chamber with the liquid, the protruding portion elastically deforms to bring the base portion into close contact with the first member.

  • Patent number: 7845480
Abstract: A support structure for supporting a brake, as a frictional coupling device, includes a snap ring, a friction plate, and a back plate. The snap ring fits in a groove that extends in a circle. The back plate is disposed between the friction plate and the snap ring. The back plate is pressed against the snap ring. The snap ring has a first end face that faces the back plate and a second end face that faces the opposite side from the first end face and is in contact with a sidewall of the groove. The back plate has an end face that is in contact with the first end face. The static friction coefficient between the first end face of the snap ring and the end face of the back plate is smaller than that between the second end face of the snap ring and the sidewall of the groove.

  • Patent number: 7827882
Abstract: A differential gear unit divides an input driving force into first and second outputs, and permits a difference between the first and second outputs. The differential gear unit includes a differential case serving as a casing that defines an internal space and an opening communicated with the internal space and that is rotatable in a given direction and an opposite direction. The differential case includes a flange portion as an input portion to which the driving force is input. The differential case is configured such that the fatigue life of the differential case when the driving force is repeatedly input in the flange portion in the direction R1 is longer than the fatigue life of the differential case when the driving force is repeatedly input in the flange portion in the opposite direction; R1 is the rotational direction in which the vehicle runs forward.

  • Patent number: 7774426
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to allow a client to make a request for music data stored in a server and to receive it and play it back. A client program 421 controls the sending of a request signal to a server 401, the reception and playback processing of music data from the server 401, and the display of a GUI performed by a display controller 426, and outputs the music data received by a communication unit 423 from the server 401 to an audio data converter 424. A server program 411 controls the sending of music data to the client 402, and registration of information in a music database 415, a link information database 416, and a ranking information database 417, searches the music database 415 for the requested music data, and sends the music data to the client 402. The present invention can be applied to a personal computer, a PDA, a cellular telephone, a desk-top playback device, a portable playback device, and a simplified playback device.
