  • Publication number: 20080055568
Abstract: A system and method displays a realistic image that allows a user to readily grasp his/her own positional relationship and also to experience a sense of presence. An outer dome screen is disposed so as to surround a user, and an immersion image such as the scenery of the surroundings of an object is displayed thereon. An inner dome screen is disposed inside the outer dome screen, and it displays a bird's-eye image of the object as perceived by the vision of the user when the object is viewed from a viewpoint of the user. In this case, the user is allowed to readily grasp his/her own positional relationship by the bird's-eye image and is allowed to experience a sense of presence by the immersion image.

  • Patent number: 7322256
Abstract: A first ball circulating hole and a second ball circulating hole for connecting a circulator are bored midway at a screw groove formed on an inner circumference of a ball nut, an intermediate groove path between the first and second ball circulating holes becomes the range of a ball screw track for circulating balls, and other ranges become a first outer track and a second outer track which are not the ball screw track. By making the groove depth of the intermediate groove path deeper than the groove depth of a first groove path of the first outer track and the groove depth of a second groove path of the second outer track, steps are formed between the ball screw track and the two outer tracks. These steps prevent an outflow of the balls from the intermediate groove path to the respective groove paths of the outer tracks.

  • Publication number: 20070240536
Abstract: A housing of a gear device houses a plurality of gears and a lubricant. On at least one side surface of at least one gear selected from the plurality of gears, an extended projection is provided. On a side surface of the housing facing the side surface of the selected gear, an extended projection is provided. The extended projection of the selected gear and the extended projection of the housing extend in a direction crossing the circumferential direction of the selected gear. When viewed along an axial direction of the selected gear, according to rotation of the selected gear, the extended projection of the selected gear and the extended projection of the housing partially face each other in the axial direction of the selected gear and form facing portions. A lubricant holding portion capable of holding the lubricant is formed between the facing portion of the extended projection of the selected gear and the facing portion of the extended projection of the housing.

  • Patent number: 7281604
Abstract: An electric power steering apparatus for converting rotation of a steering assist motor into movement of a steering shaft in the axial direction thereof in accordance with steering operation using a ball screw mechanism wherein a female thread groove formed around an inner circumference of a rotating cylinder rotated around the axis thereof by the motor and a male thread groove formed around an outer circumference of the steering shaft are screwed with each other via a plurality of balls. The portions, where the both thread grooves contact with the balls, are formed in a circular arc shape, respectively, and the curvature of the female thread groove is made smaller than that of the male thread groove. Hence, the ball screw mechanism wherein skew occurrence between the ball and both the thread grooves is prevented and the dimensional errors of both the thread groove are decreased is realized.

  • Patent number: 7277894
Abstract: A remote controller for controlling a television receiver can be set such that each of users can enjoy viewing television programs in a viewing environment optimized for each user. In an operation history registration mode, data indicating an operation performed by a user and data indicating a timing of the operation are stored as operation history in the remote controller. For example, in a case in which the operation history includes information indicating that a channel was switched by a user during a commercial break, if a commercial break occurs in the middle of a program being viewed by the user in an operation history usage mode, a selection screen is displayed to prompt the user to select whether to switch the channel. The user can easily switch the channel in the same manner as the user performed in the past simply by responding the selection screen.

  • Patent number: 7172051
Abstract: A nut member which is rotated by power transmission from a motor in a rack housing is supported by a thrust bearing fitted and fixed in a first housing having an integrally formed fixing section for fastening to a vehicle body so that the nut member cannot move in both directions along an axial direction. Thrust loads applied in both directions to the nut member with the conversion of rotation into movement of a steering shaft in an axial direction are carried by the first housing through the thrust bearing. The structure of the connection section of the first housing and second housing is simplified, and the housing is fixed in a stable manner to prevent deterioration in steering feeling.

  • Patent number: 7170831
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical pickup astigmatism adjusting method capable of easily correcting an astigmatism even if the spot shape of a light beam converged on an optical disc is not a true circle. An optical pickup astigmatism adjusting system of the present invention finds an inter-focal distance L0 between a focal position where a light beam is converged in RAD direction and another focal position where a light beam is converged in TAN direction, and a further inter-focal distance L45 between a focal position where a light beam is converged in a direction inclined 45 degrees from RAD direction and another focal position where a light beam is converged in a direction inclined 45 degrees from TAN direction, thereby measuring an astigmatism in accordance with the inter-focal distances L0 and L45. Then, an installation angle of a reflection mirror is adjusted in accordance with the inter-focal distances L0 and L45, thus correcting the astigmatism.

  • Patent number: 7135137
Abstract: A basic manufacturing method of a resin roll includes a procedure in which a synthetic resin outer cylinder (1) molded in the shape of a cylinder is arranged so as to cover an outer surface of a metal core (2), a clearance formed between metal core (2) and outer cylinder 1 is filled with a thermoset adhesive (3), and adhesive (3) is hardened to integrate the constituents into one piece through bonding. The manufacturing method of a resin roll has a feature in that integration of the constituents into one piece through bonding is performed by first hardening of the adhesive in a state where outer cylinder (1) is held at a first temperature and adhesive (3) is thereafter heated at a second temperature higher than the first temperature for second hardening.
