  • Patent number: 10974527
Abstract: An inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head configured to perform print operation, the print head having an ejection opening surface on which a plurality of ejection openings for ejecting ink are arrayed along an array direction, and a moving unit configured to move the print head between a printing position, at which the print operation is performed, and a standby position, at which the print operation is not performed. The moving unit moves the print head between the printing position and the standby position by performing rotational movement, in which the print head is rotated around a rotation axis that is parallel to the array direction, and linear movement, in which the print head is moved linearly.

  • Publication number: 20200316967
Abstract: There is provided an inkjet printing apparatus capable of stably outputting high quality images in a configuration of feeding a print medium that is kept horizontal, performing printing by the use of a print head, and conveying the print medium vertically upward. To this purpose, a platen that supports the back side of the print medium in a position facing a printing part of the print head is located to support the print medium at an angle greater than 0° and less than 90° with respect to the horizontal direction, thereby reducing a contact pressure from roller pairs on the printed side immediately after printing.

  • Patent number: 10723153
Abstract: An inkjet printing apparatus includes a stacking unit, a print head having an ejection opening surface located vertically above the stacking unit, and a platen that supports a back side of a print medium at an angle greater than 40° and less than 50° with respect to a horizontal direction. A discharging unit is located vertically above the print head, and a print medium subjected to printing by the print head is discharged onto the discharging unit. A conveying unit conveys a print medium, subjected to printing by the print head, vertically upward toward the discharging unit. In addition, the ejection opening surface faces the platen in a case in which the inkjet printing apparatus is in a printing state, and faces downward with respect to a direction of gravity in a case in which the inkjet printing apparatus is in a standby state.

  • Patent number: 10406838
Abstract: An inkjet printing apparatus includes a print head configured to perform a print operation, the print head having an ejection opening surface on which a plurality of ejection openings for ejecting ink are arrayed along a width direction, and a moving unit configured to move the print head between a printing position, in which the print operation is performed, and a standby position, in which the print operation is not performed. The moving unit moves the print head between the printing position and the standby position by simultaneously performing rotational movement, in which the print head is rotated around a rotation axis that is parallel to the width direction, and linear movement in the gravitational direction, of the print head.

  • Patent number: 9259937
Abstract: A printing apparatus that facilitates an operation of replacing a printing-agent housing container is provided. In the printing apparatus, when a cover is closed, a LED and a light receiving section can acquire information on whether or not an ink tank is mounted on a carriage. Furthermore, when the cover is opened, the light receiving section can move in a retracting direction from an opening.

  • Patent number: 8789491
Abstract: A cap sheet metal (and pivot sheet metal) is configured to be able to move linearly with a cap arm (and an arm stay) via engagement between an engagement hole and a fitting shaft. Furthermore, the cap sheet metal (and the pivot sheet metal) can move pivotally with respect to the cap arm (and the arm stay) using the fitting shaft, which engages with the engagement hole, as a pivotal shaft. Thus, even if, for example, the direction of biasing toward the applying roller deviates or a positional relationship with the applying roller deviates slightly, the liquid holding member moves and pivots in the bias direction depending on the deviation. As a result, the contacting pressure of a contacting portion on the applying roller can be made uniform.
