  • Patent number: 11933880
Abstract: An implement for use with an excavator includes a lightweight housing, a first coupling feature, a ground penetrating radar antenna, a controller, a wireless communication circuit and a rotation unit. The lightweight housing has an upper surface, a lower surface and a cavity. The first coupling feature is located on the upper surface and cooperates with a second coupling feature on an excavator arm. The ground penetrating radar antenna is mounted near the lower surface. The controller is mounted within the cavity and provides outgoing signals to the radar antenna, receives incoming signals from the radar antenna and interprets the incoming signals so as to provide implement output information. The wireless communication circuit is mounted within the cavity and transmits the implement output information. The rotation unit is mounted within the cavity and rotates the housing vis-à-vis the excavator arm.

  • Publication number: 20230376874
Abstract: An apparatus for determining a level of risk that a future transfer will exceed a level of reserve is provided by the present disclosure, the apparatus comprising circuitry configured to: obtain data of transfers between financial institutions which have occurred at a number of instances of time, the data including transfer amounts; apply a predictive model to the data to obtain a prediction of the transfer amount at each instance of time; determine a maximum residual between the prediction of the transfer amount and the transfer amount at each instance of time; model the maximum residual for each instance of time using a generalised extreme value distribution to obtain a distribution function; and determine the level of risk that a future transfer between financial institutions will exceed the level of reserve based on the distribution function which has been obtained.

  • Publication number: 20230030945
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system for aiding in the removal of one or more test specimens from a build plate. The system includes an anchor portion disposed separate from the build plate. The anchor portion may include one or more attachment points for receiving and attaching one more stretchable bands. The stretchable bands may be sized to be stretched from each of the one or more specimens to the one or more of the attachment points. In this manner, a pulling force may be imparted on each test specimen, and the test specimen is moved away from the build plate during its removal. The system may be utilized particularly in conjunction with EDM and removing the test specimens using an EDM wire.

  • Patent number: 11156181
Abstract: A method of operating a hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engine. The engine is determined to have a mode control value, which represents a threshold torque. During operation of the engine, a demanded torque of the internal combustion engine is determined and compared to the threshold torque. If the demanded torque is less than the threshold torque, the engine is operated in a low load mode that uses spark ignition and pre-mixed combustion. If the demanded torque is greater than the threshold torque, the engine is operated in a high load mode that uses compression ignition and diffusion combustion.

  • Patent number: 8885376
Abstract: A switching regulator IC contains both switching regulator circuitry and an inductor and a capacitor connected in parallel to form a resonant circuit having an associated notch filter frequency response arranged such that, when connected to receive the regulated output voltage, the resonant circuit attenuates the ripple component. This is accomplished by matching the resonant notch to the ripple's fundamental frequency, either manually or automatically. In addition, the resonant circuit's inductor and capacitor can act in concert with decoupling capacitors coupled to the load to form a low pass filter which attenuates harmonics of the ripple's fundamental frequency.

  • Patent number: 7900124
Abstract: The use of a multi-track format in both optical and magnetic data storage applications provides for a number of improvements to system performance including data density and data transfer rates. However, the full advantage in data density can only be achieved through the use of joint equalization and joint detection. The complexity of implementation of these functions arc addressed with a transform domain equalization architecture and a reduced complexity detection method based on a breadth first search of a time-varying trellis. The trellis results from a one dimensional representation of a two dimensional target response, obtained by arranging samples from adjacent tracks in a sequence that respects the original proximity of the samples.

  • Patent number: 7836202
Abstract: A communication system is introduced to integrate middleware having in-ports, out-ports, a configurator, and intermediary elements. The configurable in-ports and out-ports are used to facilitate communication with specific middleware among a set of middleware. A configurator configures in-ports and out-ports corresponding to specific middleware, wherein each in-port and each out-port is configured based on a binding and a transport. The configured in-ports, the configured out-ports, and the intermediary elements form one or more paths over which data is moved, with each of the intermediary elements performing any of, or a combination of, the following: propagation of transaction information, transformation of data, load balancing, fault tolerance, session management, orchestration, security, or control of transaction boundaries.

  • Publication number: 20100211961
Abstract: A system/method is introduced that integrates middleware components without canonicalization of data at runtime, where the system/method receives inputs identifying at least a first and second middleware to be made interoperative (via a communication path between an in-port corresponding to the first middleware and an out-port corresponding to the second middleware), receives an incoming message at the in-port, handles the received message as a plurality of parts and where, for each part, a data-object is created based on an identified type factory, with the in-port populating the data-object with values from corresponding part of the message and passing the populated data object from the in-port corresponding to the first middleware to the out-port corresponding to the second middleware.
