  • Publication number: 20130255631
Abstract: A method for an engine may comprise during a first condition comprising decreased scavenging, adjusting fuel injection based on a more-upstream air-fuel ratio, and during a second condition comprising increased scavenging, adjusting fuel injection based on one or more more-downstream air-fuel ratios and not based on the more-upstream air-fuel ratio. During the first condition, adjusting fuel injection may be further based on the one or more more-downstream air-fuel ratios.

  • Patent number: 8464514
Abstract: A method for regenerating a particulate filter is disclosed. In one example, oxygen is pumped from the intake system of a direct injection turobocharged gasoline engine through a cylinder and into the exhaust system by a compressor. In this way, regeneration of a particulate filter may be accomplished without an auxiliary air supply.

  • Patent number: 8454263
Abstract: A manhole cover is made of a fiberglass reinforced saucer-like shell that is filled with concrete. The interior surface of the shell is rough and the shell has a maximum thickness of 5 mm. An adhesive agent may be provided between the base and the filling, to obtain a reliable bond between base and filling. The concrete for the filling may be pure mineral concrete. One or more lifting handles are embedded in the filling. To this end, a recess for each handle is formed in the filling. The ends of the handle are embedded in the concrete and the lifting portion of the handle is curved upward and is held in the recess such that there is a space between the curved portion and the bottom of the recess, so that the handle may be easily grasped.

  • Patent number: 8359840
Abstract: A method for regenerating a particulate filter is disclosed. In one example, oxygen is pumped from the intake system of a direct injection turbocharged gasoline engine to the exhaust system by a compressor. The oxygen is introduced to a particulate filter at a location upstream from the particulate filter and downstream of a three-way catalyst. The oxygen may be regulated in part by adjusting compressor boost pressure in response to a state of particulate filter regeneration. Further, in one embodiment, engine NOx can be controlled by EGR.

In one example, oxygen is pumped from the intake system of a direct injection turobocharged gasoline engine to the exhaust system by a compressor. The oxygen is introduced to a particulate filter at a location upstream from the particulate filter. • Patent number: 8297019
Abstract: Disclosed is a mounting bracket for mounting wall insulation to an exterior wall. The mounting bracket is a unitary piece constructed of plastic, having a vertical wall plate, a horizontal support plate that extends orthogonal to the wall plate, and a vertical reinforcing plate that extends orthogonal to the vertical wall plate and the horizontal support plate. A bore is provided in the wall plate, for fastening the mounting bracket to the exterior wall. The reinforcing plate extends beyond the length of the horizontal support plate, to provide a mounting flange that may be fastened to a vertical wall support, such as a roof batten. The area formed by the horizontal support plate and an upper portion of the wall plate provides an unobstructed support area for supporting the wall insulation.
