Patent number: 9065858Abstract: A method of assigning network addresses for ventilators (3, 4, 5) in a network. Each ventilator (3, 4, 5) has a unique serial number in a serial number memory (8) and a network address in an adjustable network address memory (9). A control unit (1) automatically assigns network addresses to a plurality of ventilators (3, 4, 5). To begin with, all ventilators are assigned an identical start-address as network address, and serial number queries with a serial number mask are sent to the start-address. The serial number mask is comprised of definite and indefinite positions, and the ventilators (3, 4, 5) respond to the serial number mask subject to their serial number. The control unit (1) assigns unique network addresses to the ventilators (3, 4, 5) independently of the responses and/or modifies the serial number mask for further serial number queries.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2012Date of Patent: June 23, 2015Assignee: cbm-papst Mulfingen GmbH & Co. Patent number: 9026335Abstract: A motor vehicle speed control system having a distance sensor operates in a first mode when the vehicle is traveling on a clear stretch of road in which a predetermined desired vehicle speed is set. In a second mode when the vehicle is following another vehicle, a predetermined minimum distance from a selected target object is set. The target object is selected by a first selection process that screens out stationary objects. When a defined condition prevails, the first mode switches into a third mode in the form of deceleration, wherein a second selection process is started which also evaluates stationary target objects. Until a target object is selected, the vehicle travels on a clear road with deceleration initiated which is reduced relative to following another vehicle. If a target object is selected by the second selection process, the system switches over without delay from the third mode into the second mode.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: May 5, 2015Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke AktiengesellschaftInventor: Thomas Sauer

Publication number: 20150013533Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are related to a computer-implemented method that includes receiving musical data, identifying a succession of accentuated events in the musical data, determining a pattern in the succession of accentuated events, comparing the pattern to a plurality of reference patterns, and determining a match for the pattern using the plurality of reference patterns. The method further includes selecting one of the matching reference patterns, and generating a rhythmic musical accompaniment for the musical data based on the selected matching reference pattern. In some cases, the musical data is MIDI data or analog audio data. Analog audio data analysis includes detecting transients in the analog audio data by identifying the succession of accentuated event in the musical data. This may include identifying a plurality of events in the musical data, and determining whether each of the plurality of events is an accent.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2013Publication date: January 15, 2015Applicant: APPLE INC.Inventors: Christoph Buskies, Matthias Gros, Thomas Sauer, Oliver Ludecke, Tobias Bade, Alexander H.
