  • Publication number: 20120078660
Abstract: A web-based tool is provided that helps a healthcare provider to prepare for a transition to an EHR system and to select an EHR system that is appropriate for the healthcare provider's practice. A server provides questionnaire webpages to the healthcare provider. The questionnaire webpages include questionnaires to be completed by the healthcare provider. The server receives responses to the questionnaires. The server can generate an EHR transition plan based on the responses. In addition, the server can generate a request for proposal (RFP). The RFP contains a description of an appropriate EHR system. The server generates the description of the appropriate EHR system based on the responses. The RFP also contains a request by the healthcare provider for a proposal to provide the appropriate EHR system to the healthcare provider. The server then sends the RFP to vendors selected by the healthcare provider.

  • Patent number: 8041417
Abstract: Electrocardiogram data is received in association with a subject, the electrocardiogram data comprising a series of RR intervals and a series of QT intervals. A first value which indicates an amount by which uncertainty associated with the QT intervals is reduced given the RR intervals is generated. A second value which indicates an amount by which uncertainty associated with the RR intervals is reduced given the QT intervals is generated. The subject is determined to be associated with a low risk of cardiac dysfunction responsive to the first value exceeding the second value and a result of the determination is provided.

  • Publication number: 20070273068
Abstract: An apparatus for the extrusion a multi-layer parison comprises an extrusion blow molding head having a bore passing through the head with a diverter sleeve located within the bore. There is a first manifold in fluid communication with a first die inlet, the first manifold substantially surrounds the diverter sleeve and is in fluid communication with a proximal end of a flow path formed by the diverter sleeve and the bore; wherein the flow path extends from the proximal end to a head exit and a first land that has a variable width is positioned between the first manifold and the flow path. A second manifold is in fluid communication with a second die inlet, the second manifold substantially surrounds the diverter sleeve and is in fluid communication with the flow path at a first location downstream from the proximal end of the flow path; wherein the flow path has a width that increases at the first location; and a second land that has a variable width positioned between the second manifold and the flow path.

  • Publication number: 20050263139
Abstract: A heavy-duty flame propagation engine has control systems and exhaust after treatment systems adapted to provide ultra-low emissions relative to Diesel engines while achieving comparable fuel consumption at reduced emission levels. The control systems include exhaust gas circulation, variable valve actuation, cylinder deactivation, pilot fuel injection, high energy ignition systems and combinations thereof to provide substantially stoichiometric combustion conditions over an entire load range of the engine. In one embodiment, the engine has direct in-cylinder fuel injection, is adapted for lean air-fuel mixture operation, and includes an oxidation catalyst and a lean NOx adsorber.

  • Publication number: 20050031775
Abstract: A coating composition for use in coating foods, confections, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals is comprised of shellac in aqueous solution, a hydrolyzed starch product having a dextrose equivalent of 10 or greater and an effective amount of a plasticizer. The coating composition provides a surprisingly high gloss coating. The edible film coating composition solution may be stabilized by adding an effective amount of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid salt wherein the solution may remain stable for at least three months. The ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid salt may include disodium, trisodium and tetrasodium salts of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid. Preferably, the concentration of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid is about 0.5% to 2% of the solution.

  • Patent number: 6577894
Abstract: A quantitative method and apparatus for measuring a cardiac function interval. Beat-to-beat data representative of a cardiac interval is collected over an extended period of time. A series of bins, each of which has a defined value range, is defined. The collected data is organized into the bins in accordance with the value of the data and the value range of the bin. The percentage of data in each bin may be calculated based upon the quantity of data in each bin.
