Abstract: A hybrid driving unit (7) is mounted to a vehicle by coupling a coupling section (14d) at the front end of a casing member (14) with an internal combustion engine (5) and by mounting a mounting section (14c) at the rear end of the casing member (14) to a part (4a) of a body (4). Still more, a second electric motor (23), i.e., a heavy device, is disposed in the rearmost part among a first electric motor (20), a power splitting planetary gear (21), the second electric motor (23) and a transmission disposed on an axis (13) in the casing member (14). Thereby, the vibration occurring in the casing member (14) is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 7462126
Abstract: A vehicular automatic transmission is provided with a reduction planetary gear for reducing and outputting an inputted rotation of an input shaft, first and third clutches for enabling the transmission of a reduced rotation reduced through the reduction planetary gear, a planetary gear unit having second and third sun gears to which the reduced rotation is transmitted by the first and third clutches and a fourth clutch for enabling the transmission of the inputted rotation to the second sun gear. The fourth clutch is linked to the second sun gear of the planetary gear unit via output side members, i.e., a clutch drum and a link member, of the third clutch to commonly use as the output side members. Thereby, the automatic transmission may be compactly built.

  • Patent number: 7426971
Abstract: A hybrid driving unit in which a first electric motor (20), a second electric motor (23), a transmission (22) and a power splitting planetary gear (21) are disposed in order from the front side (the side of an internal combustion engine) on an axis within a casing member (14). Since the first electric motor (20) and the second electric motor (23) are disposed adjacently to each other, partial cases for storing these first and second electric motors (20) and (23) may be combined, thus facilitating the accommodation for producing the unit in series.

  • Patent number: 7422538
Abstract: A first planetary gear unit PR and a clutch C3 for outputting reduced speed rotation are located on one axial side of a second planetary gear unit PU, and a clutch C1 for connecting and disconnecting an input shaft 2 to/from a sun gear S2 and a clutch C2 for connecting and disconnecting the input shaft 2 input to/from a carrier CR2 are located on the other axial side of the second planetary gear unit PU. An output mechanism is located between the first and second planetary gear units. As compared with a drivetrain wherein the clutch C1 or clutch C2 is located between the two planetary gear units, the two planetary gear units can be located closer together, and a transmitting member that transmits the reduced speed rotation can be made shorter. Further, compared to a drivetrain wherein the clutches C1, C2, C3 are located together on one axial side, the oil supply to the hydraulic servos can be simplified.

  • Patent number: 7393296
Abstract: A hybrid driving unit (7) in which a second electric motor (23) is disposed on the side closer to the front of a vehicle (the side closer to an internal combustion engine (5)) than a first electric motor (20). A casing member (14) is formed such that an inner diameter of a part thereof, in which a stator (28) of the second electric motor (23) is fixed, is larger than that of a part in which a stator of the first electric motor (20) is fixed. This allows the second electric motor (23) to be constructed so as to have a large radial dimension and, to that extent, allows the length thereof in the longitudinal direction to be suppressed. Accordingly, this allows the length of the whole hybrid driving unit (7) to be shortened.

  • Patent number: 7367915
Abstract: A planetary gear unit PR and a clutch C3 for outputting reduced speed rotation and a clutch C1 for connecting and disconnecting input of rotation of an input shaft to a sun gear S2 are located on one axial side of a planetary gear unit PU, and a clutch C2 for connecting and disconnecting input of rotation of the input shaft to the carrier CR2 is located on the axially opposite of the planetary gear unit PU. By doing so, as compared to a case wherein, for example, a clutch C1 and clutch C2 are both located between a pair of planetary gear units PR and PU, the planetary gear units PR and PU can be located more closely together, and the member that transmits the reduced speed rotation from planetary gear unit PR to planetary gear unit PU can be made shorter. Further, compared to the case wherein, for example, the clutches C1, C2, C3 are located on one axial side of the planetary gear units, the construction of the oil lines is simplified.

  • Patent number: 7228209
Abstract: The invention includes a target-engine-speed acquisition element that acquires a target engine speed necessary to reduce engine speed, thereby stopping the engine at a target stop position; a crank-angle acquisition element that acquires a crank angle indicative of the position of a crankshaft; and a target-engine-speed correction element that corrects the target engine speed according to the acquired crank angle. Because the target engine speed is corrected according to the crank angle, the engine can be stopped at the target stop position even if the friction in the engine, the electric motor, etc. varies, the temperature or viscosity of the lubricating and cooling oils varies, or the vehicle is accelerated or decelerated during the reduction of the engine speed.
