  • Publication number: 20110254759
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device (100) according to the present invention includes pixels (P1) and (P2), each of which includes three subpixels (R1, G1, B1) and (R2, G2, B2). When the input signal indicates that a chromatic color should be represented, one of the subpixels (B1 and B2) is turned ON and at least one of the subpixels (R1, R2, G1 and G2) is turned ON, too. If the average luminance of the subpixels (B1 and B2) in a situation where the input signal indicates that the chromatic color should be represented is substantially equal to that of the subpixels (B1 and B2) in another situation where the input signal indicates that an achromatic color should be represented, the luminances of those subpixels (B1 and B2) in the former situation are different from those of the subpixels (B1 and B2) in the latter situation.

  • Publication number: 20110254879
Abstract: A liquid crystal device (100A) according to the present invention has first and second pixels (P1 and P2). Each of the first and second pixels (P1 and P2) includes first, second and third subpixels (R, G, and B). When the input signal indicates that each pixel should represent the first color, the luminances of the respective third subpixels (B1 and B2) of the first and second pixels (P1 and P2) are different from each other. But when the input signal indicates that each pixel should represent the second color, the average luminance of the respective third subpixels (B1 and B2) is substantially the same as when the first color is specified, and the luminances of the respective third subpixels (B1 and B2) are substantially equal to each other.

  • Publication number: 20110242149
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device (100A) of the present invention includes an active matrix substrate (220); a counter substrate (240); and a vertical alignment type liquid crystal layer (260). The liquid crystal display device (100) has a plurality of pixels, each of the pixels including a plurality of subpixels. The plurality of subpixels include a red subpixel (R), a green subpixel (G), and a blue subpixel (B). When each of adjacent two of the plurality of pixels represents an achromatic color at a certain grayscale level, a luminance of a blue subpixel (B) included in one of the two adjacent pixels is different from a luminance of a blue subpixel (B) included in the other of the two adjacent pixels.

  • Publication number: 20110006288
Abstract: There is provided a polymer or low-molecular-weight compound multilayer type organic EL device configured such that a light-emitting layer formed on a hole transport layer includes a mixture of a polymer material and a low-molecular weight material. With such a configuration, the low-molecular-weight material added to the polymer material serves as a binder filling the gap of the steric hindrance to form entanglement of the polymer material and the low-molecular-weight material. This results in that the interface between the hole transport layer and the light-emitting layer is an interface high in adhesion and also high in carrier injectability. Further, optimization of the formation conditions and materials can achieve still higher reliability and longer lifetime.

  • Publication number: 20100149227
Abstract: A display device displaying an image by dividing each frame into subframes. A display section has pixels each containing a first subpixel (SP1) and a second subpixel (SP2) which are connected to the same source line (S) and the same gate line (G). A difference is created between the luminance of the first subpixels and the luminance of the second subpixels. Either the first or the second subpixels are driven for black (white) display, and the luminances of the other subpixels is adjusted, to display a low (high) luminance image. Thus, the discrepancy between the display luminance of either the first or the second subpixels and the actual luminance is minimized for improved viewing angle characteristics. The relationship between the levels of the luminances of the first and second subpixels (SP1, SP2) is changed every period. A user is less likely to see a screened pattern of bright dots and dark dots.

  • Publication number: 20090131699
Abstract: It is intended to provide a method of practically obtaining a natural antioxidant, which gives a sense of security to consumers when added to foods, by efficiently taking out an antioxidant component from soybeans. It is confirmed that a hot water extract obtained by extracting a soybean seeds with hot water at a high temperature exceeding 100° C. under weakly acidic conditions has an antioxidant effect. A low-molecular weight fraction of this hot water extract is further fractionated by taking advantage of a difference in solubility in a water-containing organic solvent or using an appropriate filter suitable for the molecular weight size to thereby efficiently give a highly antioxidant fraction.

  • Patent number: 7313457
Abstract: A pattern selecting portion selects a desired embroidery pattern from a plurality of embroidery patterns. A pattern editing portion edits the embroidery pattern displayed on the display. A first determining portion determines, before the selected embroidery pattern is edited by the pattern editing portion, whether each of a plurality of embroidery frames is usable for sewing the selected embroidery pattern based on embroidery data for the selected embroidery pattern. A second determining portion determines, after the selected embroidery pattern is edited by the pattern editing portion, whether each of the plurality of embroidery frames is usable for sewing the edited embroidery pattern based on embroidery data for the edited embroidery pattern. A reporting portion reports when at least one embroidery frame determined to be usable by the second determining portion is different from at least one embroidery frame determined to be usable by the first determining portion.
