  • Patent number: 6625096
Abstract: The invention provides an optical disk recording and reproduction method which suppresses a drop of the throughput of an optical disk apparatus by retrying caused by a read error. A control section of an optical disk apparatus controls, if a read error occurs upon reading out of data from a first address of an optical disk by an optical head section, the optical head section to perform retrying of reading out from the first address. Each time retrying is performed, the control section records the number of times of retrying into a memory. Then, if reading out from the first address is performed successfully, then the control section reads out the number of times of retrying from the memory. If the number of times of retrying exceeds a prescribed number of times then the control section secures an alternative second address in place of the first address on the optical disk.

  • Publication number: 20030035305
Abstract: A power supply apparatus for use in electroplating includes an input-side rectifier (32). A rectifier output is converted into high-frequency signals in inverters (38a, 38b), which are transformed in transformers (48a, 48b). When the transformed high-frequency signals from the transformers are of positive polarity, they are rectified by a diode (50a or 50b) to cause a positive current to be supplied to a load (60). When the transformed high-frequency signals are of negative polarity, they are rectified by a diode (50c or 50d) to thereby cause a negative current to flow through the load. A first IGBT (54a) is connected in series with each of the diodes (50a, 50b) and is rendered conductive and nonconductive at a frequency lower than the high-frequency signal. Also, a second IGBT (54b) is connected in series with each of the diodes (50c and 50d) and is rendered nonconductive when the IGBT and nonconductive at the lower frequency.

  • Patent number: 6507004
Abstract: A DC power supply apparatus has two power supply input terminals between which one of 100 V level, 200 V level and 400 V level AC power supply voltages or a 575 V AC power supply voltage is applied. A rectifying unit is connected between the two power supply input terminals, and a voltage-lowering converter is connected to the rectifying unit. A thyristor is connected between the input and output of the voltage-lowering converter. A series combination of two capacitors is connected between two output terminals of the voltage-lowering converter. A switch circuit is connected between the junction of the two capacitors and one input terminal of the rectifying unit. An inverter converts a DC voltage appearing across the series combination of the capacitors into a high-frequency voltage, which, in turn, is voltage transformed by a transformer. The voltage-transformed high-frequency voltage is converted into a DC voltage in a high-frequency-to-DC converter for application to a load.

  • Patent number: 6499627
Abstract: To provide an automatic vending machine capable of preventing, at the time of carrying out a commodity from a commodity column to a commodity receptor, the commodity from falling down due to a change in posture of the commodity, and mitigating falling shock of the commodity. When the commodity is carried out of the commodity column to the commodity receptor, the commodity is caused to abut on a commodity supporting member located on one side of the commodity receptor, and the commodity is moved toward the other end side of the commodity receptor with the commodity supporting member abutted thereon, whereby the commodity is received by the commodity receptor while the commodity is being supported by the commodity supporting member. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the contents from being damaged due to falling down or falling shock caused by a change in posture of the commodity during carrying-out.

  • Patent number: 6469921
Abstract: A DC voltage from a DC supply is applied to inverters of two power supply units connected in parallel with each other. The inverters convert the received DC voltages into high-frequency voltages, which are, in turn, voltage-transformed in transformers. The outputs of the transformers are rectified in two rectifiers, respectively, and smoothed in two reactors. The smoothed voltages are supplied between output terminals. The reactors are formed on a single core, being loosely coupled with each other.
