  • Patent number: 6359364
Abstract: A brush assembly for a small motor has brushes that are not separated from a commutator when the brushes contact the commutator. The brushes are arranged so that the angles formed by the brushes where the brushes contact the commutator are maintained uniform during assembly of the motor. The pair of brushes include bases connected to each other through a lead frame. The pair of brushes are embedded in a support by molding the support with middle portions of the brushes sandwiched by part of the support so that the angles formed by the pair of brushes where the brushes slidably contact the commutator are uniform.

  • Publication number: 20010048000
Abstract: To provide an automatic vending machine capable of preventing, at the time of carrying out a commodity from a commodity column to a commodity receptor, the commodity from falling down due to a change in posture of the commodity, and mitigating falling shock of the commodity. When the commodity is carried out of the commodity column to the commodity receptor, the commodity is caused to abut on a commodity supporting member located on one side of the commodity receptor, and the commodity is moved toward the other end side of the commodity receptor with the commodity supporting member abutted thereon, whereby the commodity is received by the commodity receptor while the commodity is being supported by the commodity supporting member. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the contents from being damaged due to falling down or falling shock caused by a change in posture of the commodity during carrying-out.

  • Publication number: 20010024377
Abstract: A DC voltage from a DC supply is applied to inverters of two power supply units connected in parallel with each other. The inverters convert the received DC voltages into high-frequency voltages, which are, in turn, voltage-transformed in transformers. The outputs of the transformers are rectified in two rectifiers, respectively, and smoothed in two reactors. The smoothed voltages are supplied between output terminals. The reactors are formed on a single core, being loosely coupled with each other.

  • Patent number: 6169710
Abstract: The present invention provides a data recording/reproducing method not lowering the throughput while performing a defect processing. According to this method, a read error is monitored when a data is read out from an address X of the optical disc by an optical head block. If a read error is caused, the optical head block is made to retry the read out from the address X and a retry count is recorded in the memory each time retry is performed. When the read out from the address X is successful, the retry count stored in the memory is read out so as to be compared to a predetermined value. If the retry count exceeds the predetermined value, an alternative address Y is allocated on the optical disc to replace the address X and the data which has been read out from the address X is copied in the address Y, and the DMA (defect management area) of the optical disc is rewritten so that the data is read out from the address Y when an instruction to read out the address X is issued from an upper node apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6122235
Abstract: A method is for executing a read retry process to reread data out of a data recording medium when a read error occurs on reading the data out of the data recording medium in accordance with a read address. A host computer detects whether or not a previous retry exists in concern to the read address. The host computer executes a read retry in accordance with a predetermined one of first through N-th retry parameters when the previous retry does not exist in concern to the read address, where N represents a positive integer which is greater than one. The host computer executes a read retry in accordance with a specific one of the first through the N-th retry parameters that is selected on the basis of a predetermined order, when the previous retry exists in concern to the read address. The host computer produces the number of read retry successes in connection to each of the first through the N-th retry parameters.

  • Patent number: 6069811
Abstract: A DC power supply apparatus includes a rectifier circuit which rectifies an input commercial AC voltage. The rectifier output voltage is smoothed in a smoothing capacitor. The DC voltage from the capacitor is converted to a high-frequency voltage in an inverter. The high-frequency voltage from the inverter is voltage-transformed by a transformer into a voltage-transformed, high-frequency voltage, which is then converted back into a DC voltage in a high-frequency-to-DC converter circuit. When an input commercial AC voltage is applied to the DC power supply apparatus, a pre-charging circuit pre-charges the smoothing capacitor from the input AC voltage. If a voltage having a magnitude larger than a prescribed value is applied to the DC power supply apparatus, an overvoltage protection circuit renders the rectifier circuit and the pre-charging circuit inoperative.

  • Patent number: 6023416
Abstract: An input-side rectifier of a DC power supply apparatus receives and rectifies an AC voltage selected from first and second groups of AC voltages. The AC voltages in the second group are lower than those of the first group. A voltage boosting/lowering converter boosts or lowers the output voltage of the input-side rectifier to a voltage having a predetermined value. An inverter converts the output voltage of the voltage boosting/lowering converter to a high-frequency voltage. A voltage transformer transforms the high-frequency voltage from the inverter. An output-side rectifier rectifies the transformed high-frequency voltage from the transformer.

  • Patent number: 5943220
Abstract: A power supply apparatus includes a front panel, a rear panel and two left and right side panels which together form a housing. Opposed edges of a partition are connected to the front and rear panels to thereby divide the interior space of the housing into upper and lower chambers. The left and right side panels each have edges which are placed to abut against the corresponding edges of the other side panel.Components of a power supply circuit are appropriately distributed in the upper and lower chambers. Some of the components in the upper chambers are located beneath the upper abutting edges of said left and right side panels, and a cover is disposed to cover at least those components which are located beneath the upper abutting edges.

  • Patent number: 5930122
Abstract: An inverter includes a series circuit of two current conducting units connected between two input terminals adapted to be connected to a DC power supply. Two first capacitors are connected in series between the two input terminals. A primary winding of a transformer is connected between the junction of the current conducting units and the junction of the first capacitors. Each of the current conducting units includes a parallel circuit of an IGBT, a diode and a second capacitor. The IGBT has a collector, an emitter and a gate and is rendered conductive when a control signal is applied to the gate while a voltage of a predetermined polarity is applied between the collector and the emitter. The diode is connected in inverse parallel with the IGBT. An inverter control circuit applies alternately the control signals to the respective IGBTs with a predetermined quiescent period disposed between the respective control signals applied.

  • Patent number: 5926381
Abstract: A DC power supply apparatus includes an input-side rectifier which rectifies an input AC voltage and supplies the rectified voltage to a voltage-boosting converter. The voltage-boosting converter converts the supplied voltage to a voltage of a predetermined magnitude. The predetermined magnitude voltage is, then, converted to a high-frequency voltage by an inverter and applied to a primary winding of a transformer. An output-side rectifier rectifies a high-frequency voltage induced in a secondary winding of the transformer. The inverter includes IGBTs and diodes, which are connected in a full-bridge configuration. A capacitor is connected in parallel with each IGBT. When the IGBTs are rendered conductive by the charging and discharging of the capacitors, no current flows through the IGBTs, and when the IGBTs are rendered nonconductive, the voltages applied to the IGBTs are made to become zero.
