  • Patent number: 8138641
Abstract: A permanent-magnet rotary electric machine preferably includes a stator and a rotor opposed thereto via an air gap. The stator includes a stator core having 4m (m is an integer equal to or larger than 2) main poles each having inductor teeth at a tip thereof. The rotor includes two rotor units adjacent to each other in the axial direction. Each rotor unit includes a pair of rotor magnetic poles and a permanent magnet arranged therebetween. The permanent magnets in the rotor are axially magnetized in opposite directions to each other. Each rotor magnetic pole has magnetic teeth on its outer periphery at a regular pitch. The rotor magnetic poles in each rotor unit are arranged such that the magnetic teeth of one rotor magnetic plate are offset by half a pitch from those of the other rotor magnetic pole, and the magnetic teeth of adjacent rotor magnetic poles are aligned with each other in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 7953572
Abstract: A measurement system for obtaining a predetermined estimated value, including a measuring section for acquiring measurement data with respect to a measurement object, a display section for displaying indication concerning a measurement, a display controller, a measurement controller, a storing section for storing the measurement data, a computing section for obtaining the estimated value based on the measurement data, and a checking section for checking whether a required number of measurement data has been acquired. The display controller causes the display section to display first information relating to measurement elements required for acquiring the measurement data, and second information, for allowing an operator to recognize whether the measurement has been completed. The measurement controller causes the selection information to function as a site for accepting a command indicating start of the measurement of the measurement element relating to the individual selection information.

  • Patent number: 7915792
Abstract: An actuator includes a spirally rolled cylindrical sheet body. The sheet body is formed by attaching an electrode on each side of a dielectric elastomer layer. When a voltage is applied to the electrodes, the sheet body is contracted along the direction of its thickness, and expanded in directions perpendicular to its thickness. The actuator is actuated by applying a voltage to the electrodes and stopping the voltage application, so that the cylindrical sheet body is extended and contracted along the direction of the axis. The material forming the dielectric elastomer layer has a low strain region, where the value of a strain based on a stress acting on the dielectric elastomer layer varies from zero to a value that is greater than and close to zero, and a high strain region, where the value of the strain is greater than that in the low strain region. The Young's modulus in the low strain region is less than the Young's modulus in the high strain region.

  • Patent number: 7549586
Abstract: An optical measurement system which manages whether an optical property of a sample falls within a predetermined management range. The optical measurement system has a measuring device for measuring the optical property value of the inspected sample, a reader for reading an attribute identification information of an identification tag attached to the sample, and a storage section for storing optical property management information concerning a plurality of kinds of samples each in a manner corresponding to attribute identification information of each sample. A controller in the optical measurement system reads out from the storage section the optical property management information corresponding to the attribute identification information of the sample read by said reader, and compares the optical property management information with the optical property value of the sample, and then determines whether the optical property value falls within an allowable range in the optical property management information.
