  • Publication number: 20130251038
Abstract: In expansion and reduction of the size of a macroblock in a moving image encoding, a compression ratio falls because an information amount for describing size information of the macroblock increases. An image decoding device includes a CU dividing unit and a CU-size storing unit. The CU-size storing unit has stored therein size information of an encoded CU in an encoding target picture to be stored and size information of all CUs in preceding and following pictures used for prediction. The CU dividing unit predicts a CU size in an encoding target position using the CU size information stored in the CU-size storing unit and determines a CU size of a final encoding target CU.

  • Publication number: 20130243097
Abstract: For the purpose of providing an image encoding technique for reducing the amount of codes, in inter prediction in which motion search is performed by using a block obtained by dividing an input image and a reference image, the motion vector of the block is predicted by selecting from the motion vectors of the surrounding blocks. Further, in the method of calculating a differential vector and then performing encoding, the number or positions of candidate blocks from which a prediction vector is selected are changed block by block or frame by frame and thereby adaptive and efficient video image compression is performed.

  • Patent number: 8315467
Abstract: The invention aims at reducing the circuit size while maintaining the creation of a predictive image suitable for the intra prediction based on a pipeline processing. The encoding device is operated to perform intra prediction in blocks of pixels resulting from division of a frame of a moving image has a pseudo-local-decode-image-creation module for simply encoding an original image, and an intra prediction module for using the created pseudo local decode image to select an intra prediction mode. In the intra prediction based on pipeline processing, the pipeline stage for selecting an intra prediction mode and the pipeline stage for creating predictive image data according to the selected intra prediction mode are separated.

  • Publication number: 20120181897
Abstract: An electrostatic induction generator has a first substrate and a second substrate that can move relative to each other while remaining opposed to each other, an electret provided in the first substrate, and a first electrode and a second electrode provided on a surface side opposed to the electret in the second substrate. A positional relationship between the electret and the first electrode and a positional relationship between the electret and the second electrode change in association with a change of relative positions between the first substrate and the second substrate, whereby an electrostatic capacitance between the electret and the first electrode and an electrostatic capacitance between the electret and the second electrode change to output an electric power. A structure that decreases the electrostatic capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode is provided between the first electrode and the second electrode.

  • Publication number: 20110080951
Abstract: A technique for improving a compression rate without needing new determination information (encoding flag information) is provided. For compression of each area to be encoded, based on a skip mode (a process which does not compress information of the area to be encoded, but copies previous information of the area to be encoded), it is determined whether an existing predicted image generated by an existing encoding standard is used, or an interpolation predicted image newly generated by executing move searching between decoded images is used.

  • Patent number: 7508760
Abstract: A radio line is easily influenced in its nature by attenuation or reflection of an electromagnetic wave or the like and the surrounding environment. Due to this fact, a variation of the data transfer speed frequently occurs at the time of image streaming so as to become a hindrance to reproduction of an image at the receiving terminal. A distribution server is provided with a multiplexer for multiplexing information indicating the transmission start time for the image data and a switching unit for switching an image bit rate in response to a request from the receiving terminal. The receiving terminal uses information indicating a transmission start time for the image data, monitors the receiving bit rate and sends out a request for transmission of the most-suitable image bit rate in response to a comparison thereof.

  • Patent number: 7464170
Abstract: During the reception of a content delivery service, if the service is continued by switching a communication path, a temporary interruption occurs upon the switching of a session. There are cases where the same service cannot be continued if the communication speed of the communication path prior to switching is greatly different from that of a communication path after switching. Sessions for delivering two contents each encoded from the same source data, having different bit rates, and temporally synchronized with each other are established simultaneously with respect to a client terminal. The sessions are switched at the client terminal based on information on the respective times of content data from the two sessions such that a temporal continuation is provided therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7131048
Abstract: When a non-error-resilient application decoder receives a data stream containing syntax error due to transmission errors, such as packet losses in wireless communication, an application decoder cannot usually continue decoding the stream data anymore. According to the present invention, the data stream containing syntax error along with error correction data generated by error-detectable transmission system is inputted into an error correction part before inputted into the application decoder. The error correction part detects the error position in the data stream using the error detection data, corrects the syntax error in the stream data, and generates a stream data which is possible to be decoded by the application decoder. As a result, the data stream containing syntax error can continue decoding or be decoded in better quality by a non-error-resilient application decoder, without adding any error correcting function in the existing application decoder.

  • Patent number: 7062758
Abstract: When the meta data in an MP4 file is converted, a media data recopying process involves a long process duration and large memory space allocation. The invention provides that when an MP4 file is converted, an increment of a converted file size is estimated based on previously-registered meta data conversion candidate information, an overwritable free space equivalent to the estimated incremental size is inserted before a media data portion. In the MP4 file conversion, the converted meta data overwrites the to-be-converted meta data portion and the overwritable free space such that the MP4 file is converted without moving the media data.
