  • Publication number: 20230282155
Abstract: A conversion table is generated from an average luminance value, a histogram, and a peak luminance value of an input image, and is used for conversion of the input image to generate an output image, for display at an image display. The conversion table has a feature by which, when the input gradation value is equal to the peak luminance value, the gradation value of the output image is made to be also equal to the peak luminance value, and, in at least part of a range in which the input gradation value is lower than the peak luminance value, the output gradation value is made to be smaller than the gradation value of the input image.

  • Patent number: 11675431
Abstract: A line of sight of a driver is detected based on an image of the driver obtained by image-capturing; whether the driver is viewing the image display unit or viewing an outside of the image display unit is judged based on the detected line of sight; glare is detected based on the image of the driver; and a luminance level of the image displayed by the image display unit is determined based on the glare at the time of viewing the image display unit and the glare at the time of viewing the outside of the image display unit. • Publication number: 20220309999
Abstract: A display control device includes an image processing device that makes an image display display an image according to input image data and a temperature measurement unit that measures a temperature of a light emitter having the same property as light-emitting elements of the image display. A temperature of each light-emitting element is estimated based on a lighting ratio and a measured temperature of the light emitter and the input image data, and the input image data is corrected based on the estimated temperature. The estimation of the temperature is performed based on a result of learning a relationship among the input image data, the lighting ratio and a temperature measurement value of the light emitter, and a temperature measurement value of a previously designated light-emitting element of the image display.

  • Publication number: 20220208065
Abstract: In an image processing device that causes an image display in which multiple light emitting elements each including multiple LEDs are arranged, to display an image, the temperatures of the light emitting elements are estimated based on a result of learning of a relationship between image data items of input images of multiple frames and measured values of the temperatures of the light emitting elements, and unevenness in at least one of luminance and chromaticity of the light emitting elements is corrected based on the estimated temperatures. It is possible to compensate unevenness in at least one of luminance and chromaticity of the light emitting elements due to temperature variation without a temperature sensor being provided for each light emitting element.

  • Patent number: 8817869
Abstract: To interpolate a frame between the current frame and a first delayed frame preceding the current frame, an image processing device generates test interpolation data for the first delayed frame from data in point-symmetric positions in the current frame and in a second delayed frame preceding the first delayed frame. Motion vectors pointing from the first delayed frame to the current frame are found by evaluating different test interpolation data against the actual data of the first delayed frame. These motion vectors are converted to pairs of motion vectors pointing from the first delayed frame and the current frame to the interpolated frame, and these pairs of motion vectors are used to detect occlusion and generate accurate data for the interpolated frame from the data of the first delayed frame and the current frame, excluding occluded data.

  • Publication number: 20130235274
Abstract: A motion vector detection device includes a motion estimator which detects block motion vectors (MV0) and a motion vector densifier (130). The motion vector densifier (130) further comprises a first motion vector generator (1341), a second motion vector generator (1342-134N), and a motion vector corrector (1371-137N). From each block, the first motion vector generator (1341) generates sub-blocks on a first layer, and generates a motion vector (MV1) for each sub-block on the first layer. In each layer from a second layer through an N-th layer, the second motion vector generator (1342-134N) generates a motion vector (MV7, where k=2 to N) for each sub-block in the layer. The motion vector corrector (1371-137N) corrects the motion vectors of the sub-blocks in layers subject to correction among the first through N-th layers.

  • Patent number: 8497873
Abstract: An image processing apparatus determines a reference pixel position for each pixel by an interpolation calculation using the distortion correction values for representative pixels stored in a correction value storage unit, decides whether the distortion correction values used in the interpolation satisfy a predetermined condition, reads a plurality of pixel values from an image data storage unit according to values of their reference pixel position, determines first interpolation coefficients from a value of its reference pixel position, and determines the pixel value in the output image from the plurality of pixel values read and the first interpolation coefficients. The image processing apparatus determines second interpolation coefficients from said value of its reference pixel position and a predetermined function, and selects, according to the decision result, either the second interpolation coefficients or third interpolation coefficients for use as the first interpolation coefficients.

  • Patent number: 8422812
Abstract: An image processor is provided with the high-frequency component detecting unit that calculates a convolution for each of regions of interest in part of an image region of input image data, to output the high-frequency component detection result for each pixel of interest; the smoothing unit that smoothes the image data, to output the smoothed image data; and the image data processing unit that combines based on the high-frequency component detection result the image data with the smoothed image data, to output the combined image data; wherein the image data processing unit varies the combination rate for the smoothed image data, based on the high-frequency component detection result. Thereby, even when a region in the image data contains such high frequency components as a checkered pattern has, an image resistant to moiré that would be generated in magnifying or reducing of the image on a region basis can be displayed without deterioration of image quality.
