    Abstract: A lever fitting type connector (10) includes both connectors (20, 30) fitted to each other, and a lever (40) interposed between both of the connectors (20, 30) and converting an operation force applied to an operation portion (43) into a fitting force between both of the connectors (20, 30). In the lever fitting type connector (10), the lever (40) is rotatably pivoted on the first connector (20), and an engagement portion (60) engaged with the lever (40) is provided on the second connector (30). A standing mechanism (50) is provided between the lever (40) and the second connector (30). The standing mechanism (50) has a function that stands the lever (40) when temporarily fitting both of the connectors (20, 30). An amount of rotation of the lever (40) is secured largely by applying the operation force to the operation portion (43) in a standing state of the lever (40), so as to regularly fit both of the connectors (20, 30).

    Abstract: A method of press-connecting a coated electric wire with a press-connecting terminal, including the step of pressing an end portion of the coated electric wire into a notched slot provided in a side plate of the press-connecting terminal so as to cut a coating portion of the coated electric wire to thereby make a conductor of the coated electric wire electrically connected to the side plate of the press-connecting terminal. In such a method, before the coated electric wire is press-connected with the press-connecting terminal, the coating portion of the coated electric wire is heated and softened so that the force necessary for pressing the coated electric wire into the notched slot is reduced to be not larger than a predetermined value.

    Abstract: A connector supporting structure includes a female connector 4 temporarily engaged in a bracket 3 fixed to an instrumental panel 1 and a male connector 5 where a cam lever 27 is rotatably supported by a male connector housing 26. Since a rotation handling part 39 of the cam lever 27 butts against a step part 16A of the bracket 3 to receive a reaction force, the cam lever 27 is rotated to effect the engagement between the connectors 4, 5. On the lateral side of the front end of a male connector housing 26, protective cover parts 26B are formed so as to extend sideways. Before fitting the connector 4 to the connector 5, the protective cover parts 26B operate to protect the rotation handling part 39. When fitting the connector 4 to the connector 5, the protective cover parts 26B come into contact with a guide slant face 15a formed on the bracket 3, so that the cam lever 27 can be prevented from being broken.

    Abstract: A connector connecting structure comprises, a first connector 50 held by a connector holding member 30, and a second connector 90 to be fitted to the first connector 50. The first connector is provided with turning levers 70A, 70B which are temporarily engaged with the connector holding member 30 before the second connector 90 is fitted to the first connector 50, and when the second connector 90 is fitted to the first connector 50, the turning levers 70A, 70B are turned by a fitting operation therebetween and finally engaged with the connector holding member 30. The turning levers 70A, 70B are provided on one end with a pair of sandwiching projections 74, 75 located on a front face side and a back face of a holding wall of the connector holding member 30 for sandwiching the holding wall. A resilient arm 76 is provided on a portion of at least the back face side which abuts against the holding wall of the sandwiching projection.
