  • Publication number: 20080264048
Abstract: An inlet chamber 40 and outlet chamber 50 for exhaust gas are integrated as an inflow/outflow section 80, and a first post treatment device 10 equipped with a DPF 13 at its central portion and second post-treatment device 20 equipped with a urea DeNOx catalyst 23 on its outer periphery side are integrated as a catalyst installation section 70. The catalyst installation section 70, the inflow/outflow section 80, and a communication chamber forming section 30 are provided separately and detachably from one another, and the catalyst installation section 70 is made installable in a reversible manner. As a result, by reversing the catalyst installation section 70, it is possible to easily reverse the DPF 13 without having to extract it from the central part. Further, since the urea DeNOx catalyst 23 is reversed simultaneously, it is possible to change the direction in which the exhaust gas flows therein, thereby enabling to prevent unbalanced deterioration of the urea DeNOx catalyst 23.

  • Publication number: 20070292268
Abstract: A turbocharger as a turbo machine includes: a compressor impeller (13) having a projected portion (19) at a center of a rear surface; a drive shaft (15) connected to a bottomed coupling hole (20) provided in the projected portion (19) of the compressor impeller (13) through interference fit only; and a sleeve (30) with a cylindrical portion (33) connected to the outer peripheral portion of the projected portion (19) of the compressor impeller (13) by fitting only. The sleeve (30) is formed of a material whose coefficient of linear expansion is smaller than that of the compressor impeller (13). Accordingly, even when the coupling hole (20) in the projected portion (19) undergoes thermal expansion and the diameter of the coupling hole (20) increases, a connection between the drive shaft (15) and the coupling hole (20) can be prevented from being loosened since the radial increase thereof is suppressed by the cylindrical portion (33). Thus, the state of the connection thereof can be well maintained.

  • Publication number: 20070271918
Abstract: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine able to well atomize a reducing agent and ensure supply of combustion air. Since a controller of the exhaust emission control device also controls a nozzle opening degree of a variable geometry turbocharger for purpose of spraying a urea water, even in the state where the engine works in a low load range of T1 to T2 where supercharging pressure normally can not be increased, supercharging pressure P suitable to atomization of the urea water can be obtained by controlling the nozzle opening degree of the variable geometry turbocharger to be closer to a closing side compared to the conventional art (shown by the chain double-dashed line), while the urea water can be securely atomized by a part of the supercharged air.
