  • Patent number: 6379121
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to offer a structure of a suction valve enough to prevent a noise or clatter caused by vibrations of a suction valve in a variable displacement compressor having pistons. The suction valve is a bendable flexible valve composed of flexible portions, and of a closing portion placed adjoining to the flexible portions to form a free end to close a suction port. The lengths of the flexible portions of the suction valve are nearly equal, but the widths of the flexible portions of the suction valve are different each other.

  • Publication number: 20020018725
Abstract: A piston includes an engaging portion for engaging with a piston drive mechanism for reciprocating the piston, a hollow head portion with an opening at its one end, and a disc-shaped end plate for closing the opening of the hollow head portion. The piston further includes a central axial protrusion extending in the axial direction. The protrusion is formed integrally with the hollow head portion. The end plate is connected to the central axial protrusion of the hollow head portion. The end plate also has a protrusion protruding towards the central axial protrusion of the hollow head. One of the protrusions has a fitting hole to which the other is press-fitted, thereby connecting the hollow head portion to the end plate to close the opening of the hollow head portion. A diameter of the disc-shaped end plate is smaller than an outer diameter of the cylindrical hollow head portion.

  • Patent number: 6312232
Abstract: A compressor includes a discharge chamber into which pressurized refrigerant gas is intermittently discharged. The pressurized refrigerant gas in the discharge chamber is sent to an external refrigerant circuit. A chamber for accommodating a resonance suppressing adapter is located between a discharge muffler and the external refrigerant circuit. The adapter includes a float valve and a spring. The float valve can move between a position connecting the accommodation chamber to the muffler and a position disconnecting the accommodation chamber from the muffler. The spring urges the float valve to its closed position. The force of the spring is determined such that the discharge pulse frequency of the refrigerant gas does not coincide with the natural resonance frequency of the external refrigerant circuit or at least such that the amplitude of pressure variations of the refrigerant gas is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20010028851
Abstract: A variable displacement compressor 10 includes return springs 9 and 19 that press a swash plate 11 in the axial direction of a drive shaft 8. One end of the return spring 19 is fastened to the swash plate 11, and the other end is fastened to a ring-like (toric) receiving plate 19a through which the drive shaft 8 is inserted. When the swash plate 11 rotates, the return spring 19 and the receiving plate 19a rotate in synchronism with the swash plate 11, and the receiving plate 19a slides in contact with a contact portion 1a of the cylinder block 1.

  • Patent number: 5228379
Abstract: A swash plate type compressor is disclosed which is intended to prevent a hemispherical shoe, provided between the piston and the swash plate, from being spun on slat surface of the swash plate during operation of the compressor. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the swash plate is formed with a step and the shoe with a cut portion engageable with the step so that the shoe is prevented from being spun on the slant surface of the swash plate which provides a turning moment to the shoe. The step is formed by an annular projection having an annular wall portion defining the inner limit of the slant surface area of the swash plate with which the flat face of the hemispherical shoe is kept in sliding contact, and the cut portion of the shoe has a curved surface conforming to the curvature of the annular wall portion. The shoe is located with its cut portion slidably contactable with the annular wall portion.

  • Patent number: 5088897
Abstract: A swash plate type compressor having a compressor casing accommodating a swash plate operated compressing mechanism compressing a refrigerant gas supplied from a suction side of a refrigerant circulating circuit and discharging a compressed refrigerant gas into a discharge side of the circuit, and an internal lubricating system for lubricating movable elements of the swash plate operated compressing mechanism by using a lubricating oil reserved in a swash plate chamber and an oil sump provided in the bottom of the compressor casing, the compressor casing having a refrigerant and lubricant separating chamber for separating a lubricant component from a lubricant suspended refrigerant gas generated in the swash plate chamber by a high pressure blow-by refrigerant gas and a mist of the lubricant oil when the gas flows from the swash plate chamber toward the suction side of the refrigerant gas circulating circuit, and a refrigerant gas evacuation passageway extended from the refrigerant and lubricant separating ch

  • Patent number: 5062773
Abstract: The cylinder block assembly (1a) of a swash plate type refrigerant compressor is formed with a suction passageway (17) in which a refrigerant gas containing a mist-like lubricant oil therein is sucked and passed therethrough, and a cylindrical separating chamber (22) is formed by an extension (21) from an inner wall of the suction passageway and has an opening directed toward an entering direction of a flow of the lubricant oil-containing refrigerant gas. The separating chamber (22) is provided with an bottom wall (22a) having a through-hole for an entrance of the oil, communicating between the separating chamber (22) and a swash plate chamber (4).

  • Patent number: 5016524
Abstract: A continuous seal ring member fitted in a ring groove of a piston of a compressor. The seal ring member has a washer-like initial shape with an internal diameter smaller than an outer diameter of the piston, whereby the inner peripheral portion of the seal ring member is expanded when the seal ring member is fitted in the ring groove. The outer peripheral portion of the ring seal member is then axially and inwardly collapsed relative to the inner peripheral portion thereof so that one of the side surfaces of the initial seal ring member constitutes an outer sealing surface for engagement with the cylinder bore and the outer peripheral portion in the original shape is arranged on the side of said compression chamber.
