This apparatus comprises a recording head which is provided integrally with a plurality of recording units having a plurality of discharge port arrays for discharging ink of different colors, respectively, and then, the plurality of recording units are arranged in the direction of main scan to discharge ink of different densities, respectively. With the structure thus arranged, the recording in all the colors is not executed at a time thus making it possible to obtain an excellent image with a lesser deterioration of image due to ink blur and the like.

    Abstract: A liquid discharge head having plural liquid paths and plural discharge openings is formed by joining an adhesion face of an orifice plate with an adhesion face of a head main body. The liquid paths are provided in the head main body, and the adhesion face of the head main body has apertures of the liquid paths. The adhesion face of the orifice plate has recessed portions and protruding portions. The protruding portions have a shape corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the liquid paths, and the discharge openings are provided in the protruding portions. The protruding portions or parts thereof fit into the liquid paths, and are inserted into the liquid paths for joining the adhesion face of the orifice plate with the adhesion face of the head main body.

    Abstract: An ink jet head comprises a head substrate provided with a plurality of ink paths, pressure generating elements each arranged for each of the paths; and an orifice plate provided with ink discharge openings each communicated with each of the ink paths. Then, the bonding surface side of the orifice plate to the substrate is provided at least with the surface treatment. The orifice plate is formed by fluororesin or resin containing fluorine. With the structure thus arranged, it becomes possible to bond the orifice plate having ink repellency to the head substrate firmly and assuredly, while enabling the ink jet head thus manufactured to maintain a good ink repellency for a long time.
