  • Publication number: 20020174301
Abstract: A system and method of logically partitioning shared memory structures between computer domains is disclosed. In one embodiment, each domain is assigned a unique address space identifier. The unique address space identifier preferably has tag extension and index extension bits. This permits the tag and index bits of a conventional local domain address to be extended with tag extension and index extension bits. Data entries in the shared memory structure may be accessed using an extended index value. Hits may be determined using an extended tag value.

  • Publication number: 20020159926
Abstract: An exhaust gas purification apparatus for use in an internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust gas duct connected to the engine through which the exhaust gas containing NOx gas passes and a catalyst so disposed in the exhaust gas duct that it contacts with the exhaust gas. The catalyst chemically adsorbs NOx under the condition that a stoichiometric amount of a gaseous oxidizing agent present in the exhaust gas is larger than that of a gaseous reducing agent present in the exhaust gas for reducing NOx, while NOx being adsorbed is catalytically reduced in the presence of the reducing agent under the condition that the stoichiometric amount of the oxidizing agent is not larger than that of the reducing agent. Thereby, NOx, the lean burn exhaust gas in the engine can be effectively made harmlessly.

  • Patent number: 6456065
Abstract: A rotational angle detecting device includes a rotation detecting section for outputting sinusoidal first and second detection signals as a result of the rotation of a rotor connected to a rotary member, a storage section for updating and storing the first and second detection signals, and a controlling section. The first and second detection signals have constant amplitudes, have the same periods, and have wavelengths which are output of phase. The controlling section compares the amplitude values of most recent first and second detection signals output from the rotation detecting section, and determines whether or not the amplitude values fall within proper ranges. When the controlling section determines that they fall within the proper ranges, a piece of detection information which is created based on the most recent first and second detection signals is supplied to a controller.

  • Patent number: 6272848
Abstract: An apparatus and method of highly efficiently purifying nitrogen oxides are provided. An NOx chemisorption reduction catalyst chemically absorbs NOx under a condition that an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is an oxidizing atmosphere and deoxidizes adsorbed NOx under a reducing atmosphere. An SOx absorbent absorbs SOx contained in the exhaust gas of the oxidizing atmosphere, and deoxidizes and release SOx absorbed in the reducing atmospheric exhaust gas. The catalyst and absorbent are arranged in the exhaust path to purify the exhaust gas while preventing or suppressing SOx-poisoning of the NOx chemisorption reduction catalyst.

  • Patent number: 6237108
Abstract: A multiprocessor system having a redundant shared memory configuration includes a plurality of processors, each of which are connected to a shared system bus; and a plurality of shared system memory modules, e.g., dual shared system memory modules connected to the shared system bus. A first processor module is operative to write data in one of dual shared system memory modules and subsequently write the data in the other memory module, so as to ensure that the data in both dual shared system memory modules are equivalent to each other. A second processor module monitors a status of the first processor module, and discriminates whether a write operation for the other memory module is finished in normal termination or in abnormal termination in the case where the first processor module stopped operating. The second processor module copies data starting from the address of a first data in the unsuccessfully copied data from the first memory module to the second memory module.
