  • Publication number: 20060038331
Abstract: An engine mount system includes multiple liquid-filled engine mounts switchable to provide different mount characteristics by selectively introducing negative pressure or atmospheric pressure. On one of pipelines connected to the respective engine mounts for introducing the negative or atmospheric pressure into the respective engine mounts, a check valve and an orifice portion are provided in parallel. The orifice portion restricts an amount of air flowing therethrough, so that the mount characteristic of the engine mount connected to the one pipeline equipped with the check valve and the orifice portion does not undergo an abrupt change when the pressure introduced in the engine mount is switched from the negative pressure to the atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 6422546
Abstract: An active vibration isolating support device for preventing the direct transmission of vibrations from an engine to a vehicle body frame includes an electromagnetic actuator for driving a movable member in a reciprocating fashion to change the capacity of a first liquid chamber. A shaft portion of an armature driven by a coil is supported by a bearing so that it moves along an axis, whereby the size of an air gap can be maintained as small as possible, thereby making it possible to miniaturize the coil. In addition, a connecting rod for connecting the movable member with the armature is supported so as to sway relative to a coil spring and a saucer spring, whereby the vibration of the movable member is prevented from being transmitted to the shaft portion of the armature.

  • Patent number: 5556133
Abstract: A fuel tank is supported by an upper surface of a subframe, inclined surfaces abutting four corners of the fuel tank, and steel straps passed across the upper surface of the fuel tank. Thus, the fuel tank can be securely mounted on the subframe without involving any play, and it can be accomplished by engaging relatively rigid and mechanically strong parts of the fuel tank. Thus, various advantages obtained by mounting a fuel tank on a subframe can be obtained without any need to reinforce the fuel tank or the subframe or to take any costly special measures.

  • Patent number: 5395452
Abstract: In a apparatus made of silica such as a heating furnace, a wafer basket, stick or the like used for semiconductor device fabrication, a first silica layer on the side faced to a semiconductor wafer contains a large amount of the OH group, and a second silica layer on the opposed side contains a small amount of the OH group. With this structure, it is possible to reduce the amount of impurities released through the first silica layer, and to suppress the deformation of the apparatus by the second silica layer. Also, by holding a third silica layer between the first and second silica layers, it is possible to further reduce the amount of impurities released from the first silica layer.

  • Patent number: 5169703
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium having minute irregularities on the surface of a magnetic layer is disclosed. The value of the ratio A.sub.V /A.sub.P, where A.sub.V and A.sub.P are cross-sectional areas of valleys and projections as measured in a plane lower by 50 nm and in a plane higher than 50 nm than an intermediate plane of the magnetic layer, respectively, with the measurement being made using a three-dimensional roughness meter, is given by A.sub.V /A.sub.P .gtoreq.0.90, wherein the intermediate plane is a plane for which the cross-sectional area of the projections is approximately equal to that of the valleys. The minute irregularities on the surface of the magnetic layer are produced by providing a non-magnetic substrate presenting different surface roughnesses on its front surface and back surface, and by transferring surface irregularities constituting the surface roughness of the back surface of the non-magnetic substrate to the front surface of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4858975
Abstract: A vacuum chuck apparatus operable in both gas and liquid includes a liquid-gas separating membrane which allows passage of gas molecules but prevents passage of liquid. The liquid-gas separating membrane is disposed between an inlet hole of the chuck and a manifold which is connected to a pneumatic system. The pneumatic system includes an aspirator, a compressor and a switching valve. The vacuum chuck is immersed into a liquid, compressed gas purges the liquid in the inlet hole, then the switching valve is switched to the aspirator. An object, such as a semiconductor wafer, is vacuumed quickly to the chuck, and the inlet hole is closed by the object. If a small quantity of liquid intrudes into the chuck, it is stopped by the liquid-gas separating membrane.
