    Abstract: In an actuator (camera driver) according to the present invention, when a movable unit is in a neutral position in which the movable unit has rotated around neither an axis nor an axis, a first synthetic vector and a second synthetic vector are directed toward an object to be driven with respect to a plane including the both axes. The first synthetic vector is defined by synthesizing together two first vectors, pointing toward a pair of magnetic yokes, of magnetic attraction forces between a pair of first driving magnets and the pair of magnetic yokes. The back yokes include at least one pair of back yokes facing each other with respect to an optical axis. Each of the at least one pair of back yokes includes a base and a yoke protrusion. An associated one of the drive magnets is attached to the base. However, mass manufactured electronics are manufactured as identical electronic devices. Thus, several techniques are presented for assigning unique addresses to identical electronic devices coupled to a common serial line. One set of techniques uses a local sensor that is stimulated in order to specify a single device on the serial line. Another set of techniques measures a pulse presented onto the common serial by a circuit node to determine its relative position on the serial line.

    Abstract: Data may be encoded onto a direct current power line by modulating the current on that direct current power line. One method of modulating the current is by placing an inductor on the power line and then using a controlled transistor that turns on and turns off. The inductor will ensure that current keeps flowing but the transistor will induce changes in the current pattern. The excess current from when transistor is turned off must be diverted. Furthermore, to create symmetrical current changes, the inductor should be reverse biased. Thus, a circuit is created that sinks the excess current from when the transistor is turned off and used to reverse bias the inductor.

    Abstract: A broadband data broadcast system that allows rich multimedia content to be delivered to a plurality of subscribers is disclosed. The broadband data broadcast system operates by multiplexing a plurality of rich multimedia digital information streams together at a centralized data broadcast center. The data broadcast center then broadcasts the multiplexed digital information stream on a broadcast medium such as satellite broadcasts, radio frequency broadcasts, or digital television broadcasts. A large number of receiver systems receive the broadcast signal and demodulate the broadcast signal to retrieve the multiplexed digital stream. The receiver system extracts a subset of digital information streams that the particular receiver system's owner has designated are of interest. The receiver system caches the interesting digital information stream for later access. The receiver system outputs the interesting digital information streams to a client system upon demand.

    Abstract: Direct current circuits always require a voltage source consisting of a positive voltage and a ground. To power a plurality of a direct current circuit nodes one must traditionally supply a power supply line and a ground line to each circuit node. To simplify wiring, a single conductor system of powering a plurality of circuit nodes is disclosed wherein each circuit node has only two external connections and the circuit nodes are coupled in series. Specifically, each individual circuit node has an integrated circuit and a capacitor. A power circuit within the integrated circuit then directs current from an input into the capacitor to create a local power supply and shunts current from the input to an output when not directing current into the capacitor.

    Abstract: Waffle transistors are used within an integrated circuit when a transistor must carry an amount of current greater than the amount of current carried by a typical transistor in the integrated circuit. In a waffle transistor a set of source areas and drain areas are arranged in a checkerboard pattern. The source areas must all be connected together and the drain areas must all be connected together. To efficiently connect the source (or drain) areas together, a serpentine metal interconnect pattern is used. The serpentine pattern reduces the amount of metal required outside of the array. The serpentine pattern may be improved with offset contacts in the source and drain areas that cause the serpentine metal interconnects to be straighter.
